DreamDrains 36 in Stainless Steel Linear Shower Drain - Square Pattern Drain - Easy Installation Linear Drain Kit (Brushed Finish, 36 x 2.75 Inches)

I bought this to use as an emergency drain for our washing machine alcove. Seems like it will be fine for that. Did run into some problems with it that I did not have with the much more expensive linear drain for our shower. First of all, the outlet is small at 1 7/8 inch OD and fits INSIDE a standard 2" drain pipe. As it is just an emergency drain this is how I plumbed it, but if you wanted to use it in a shower I think the way to go would be a 1 1/2" to 2" no hub coupling. Secondly, there is no way to attach the drain to a plywood subfloor. The directions are for installation into a mortar bed over concrete. I routed out a slot for it into our subfloor and will use thin set mortar to hold it in place. Again, ok for an emergency drain but maybe not for one that would be walked on and used everyday. Finally, there is no way to adjust the height of the grate. Therefore, careful consideration of the final floor height is needed before installation.More positive comments: Well constructed with good slope of the drain foor toward outlet. Grate comes covered with a protective film.

This unit does not come with the rubber collar needed to install it into the plumbing. Also, other units I've seen have feet on both right and left side to keep it level or at the level you need it. I had to go to a tile store to find that rubber boot in order to install it. I was fortunate they allowed me to buy it from them but that was only because I've spent a lot of money there. Otherwise, I could have been out of luck... not sure where to buy the boot.In fairness, it looks great installed and was less than the local discount tile store offered.

With this drain, as well as many zero radius sinks, there isn't enough of a slope towards the drain for liquids to be expelled sufficiently. My drain is perfectly level, but pouring water into both ends results in some water sitting stagnant instead of draining.The draining action is decent, but could be better

Love this drain once again, used it 3 times. My customers love it. The square holes offers a simple design which doesn't detract from the greatness of the rest of their remodel...after all, its just a drain...doesn't need led lights or some fancy pattern carved into it.

Nice drain a bit narrow but good deal price wise!
