Sharkfin GP10M medium Picks (25 Pack) white

You can never have enough white Sharkfins
Fantastic pics that you can never have enough of around your guitars, amps, bedroom, wallets, kitchen, garden etc. Been playing guitar for around 15 years now and since I first started using these about 10 years ago I've never found a plectrum that comes close. Great shape for things like pinched harmonics, and just the right balance of flex and rigidness. have tried all shapes and materials but this is the winner for me.Small note: bought these at the start of the year for £10 all in (picks + P&P). In Dec 2016 they're now £19 (!!) which is more expensive than picking them up in your local music shop.

Hard to find genuine Sharkfins: great sound
White Sharkfins are hard to find: music shops will often tell you that they had some in recently, and will be getting some at some point. Others simply suggest you look in their box to see if what you want is there -- a sure sign they hope you'll be buying one of their regular picks. The Sharkfin has four useful playing edges. The 'front' is the closest to a regular plectrum, and it's the one I use most for lead playing and for single notes on acoustic or electric. The 'top' is a broad, soft edge which gives a more mellow sound. I don't use this one much. The 'back' is a thinner edge which gives a thinner, stringier sound. If you want to empty the sound a bit, for example during the verse when playing acoustic, this is great. The best bit, though, is the serrated edge bottom, which gives an ultra-bright, jangly sound, freshening up old strings, and, when twisted, giving you a harsh, almost over-driven sound _on an acoustic guitar_ -- something you can't achieve with any other design of plectrum. When playing electric you can really ramp up the effect of distortion or overdrive by torqueing the pick when using this edge. It's also great for changing the tone when strumming.I read in Guitar Player magazine years ago that there is a big difference between the kind of player who changes their sound by turning on an effects pedal and one who changes it by changing the way they use the plectrum. I do use effects now (for years I didn't), but, mindful of that adage, the backbone of my technique has always been using the pick to change the sound first, giving creativity and flexibility which goes far beyond any 'on-off' setting. In this, the medium white sharkfins have been my constant companions for thirty years.

Great picks, fantastic alternative to tortex
Can't praise these picks enough, ever since I stumbled across them in a tiny music shop in the middle of nowhere, I'm yet to find a pick that so eagerly dishes out pinched harmonics and have just the right amount of flex to make faster picking a joy. If you've been stuck with Dunlop Tortex picks, give these a whirl and be pleasantly surprised.Be warned though, make sure that you get the genuine Landstrom picks with gold writing as there are numerous other sharkfin picks on the market (generally cheaper) and the build quality is in my experience pretty inferior.

Come on, it's just a piece of plastic isn't it?
Well it maybe just a piece of plastic but I've been playing guitar for longer than I can remember and this is, without doubt, the finest guitar pick I have ever used. Actually it's three picks in one, the point or fin gives a lovely precise feel when soloing. The flat side gives a soft controlled strum and the ridged edge gives a crisp, bright 'new string' sound with great attack.Nice and light, these stay well in the hand and are a delight to use, I can't see me ever using anything else.

Highly recommended for lots of control!
Best picks ever designed. I always only use Sharkfin picks, always have and probably always will. The serrated edge gives me the control I need to make it scream/overtone pretty much everywhere on the board. Only downside with them is that you wear them down relatively quickly if you're playing lots of rhythm with the serrated edge, but hey ho, the crisp grunge is worth it! Highly recommended!

These are my favourites thank heavens they are available.
Just ordered some more of these. Medium white shark fins are all I have ever felt happy with. Fully concur with other reviewers describing so many shops that don't sell them or can't get them Saying 'have a look' trying to get you to buy something they do have. I've been there, bought what I don't want, and given away more ordinary plectrums than I care to count.

so I went and bought all of these as replacements and I love them. They're just bendy enough to be pliable ...
I had one of these picks I bought from a music shop and I kept losing it, so I went and bought all of these as replacements and I love them. They're just bendy enough to be pliable but hard enough to be articulate.
