I love this book. I love the way it is written and the style in which Imke Spilker presents her ideas and work with horses. This is not a 'how to' manual, but it does give a lot of insight into the work she has been doing with her own herd of horses for many years. Working with a mix of horses from rescue to youngsters she has bred - and it's not wishy washy hippy stuff, but as the book says, empowering the horses to really get the best out of them. Not just in a ridden capacity, but also in partnership. This one should make you sit up and rethink so much of what you 'know' about horses.

If you are a treehugger and prefer not to ride this is the book for you.

The book is excellent and full of good advice for the caring horse owner.It is a valuable tool for those who wish to follow the "natural approach" to training horses and riders.I particularlly liked the use of pictures to capture specific ideas.I have reccomended this book to my group of friends and I do know that one has already bought it.

Well written and a book worth keeping to read again and again...I would love to see this in the home of every horse owner !!

Interesting addition to my library.

This is the most groundbreaking and important book on approaches to horses that I have come across and it ought to be the first and last book any horse owner reads! Easy to understand yet truly revolutionary if applied. No horse need ever be a switched off, mildly resentful trekking mount again! Instead Imke Spilker demonstrates how all horses can return to the proud, spirited and noble creatures that we fell in love with as children; is this not their birthright?
