Power in your hand.
Ok, lets get the dislikes out of the way first. The most annoying thing for me is that when your hand grips the driver you often trip the switch that changes the rotation direction. As a non professional I fail to see the need for the side clip near the battery but accept that pro guys might find it helpful (mine now removed). The good bits are amazing. The power of this driver is fantastic. I took a 75mm long x 5mm dia screw and without pilot hole launched it into and out of a 100mm soft wood with absolute ease. Having used and abused it for years the battery is without doubt fantastic and very long lasting. When needed the recharge time is by no means excessive. It comes with a battery indicator which is very useful and a great feature. All in all if I break this super tool then it will only be replaced with the same.

Powerful screw driving
Tradesmen all seemed to have these modern impact drivers while I was still using a normal cordless drill for driving screws. So I read the reviews and bought this Dewalt impact driver. What a revelation; Big screws into hard wood is now effortless. The battery lasts me at least one day of fairly constant work.Flat wood bits with hex shank fit this impact driver, and it is now easy to drill large holes in wood (Where previously the drill struggled) which is a bonus.I chose this model because it has 3 power settings -- I think this was a waste of time. The lower setting is not strong enough for most things, and the top setting is too powerful. So I only ever use the middle setting. This impact driver (and probably ALL similar tools) are really tough on screwdriver bits. Recently I was driving 200 or 300 screws a day (5x70mm into softwood) and found some bits lasted only 2 or 3 screws, some lasted 10 or 20 screws. None survived more than about 50, The tips of the bit just shattered. I was trying bits labelled as Impact Driver Bits, from Dewalt, Bosch, Makita, etc. I have just purchased a Wera 05057675001 (on Amazon) Impact bit holder, and some Wera bits. These claim to soften the impact and withstand the hard use.Althought this driver with battery is quite heavy to hold, I love using it and think it is one of the better tools I have bought recently.

Awesome
I already had a cheap imapct screwdriver which has been amazing for most things but is not strong enough for some really tight screws. The DeWalt is awesome, it is so powerful and fast. Recently used it to put some shelves up in the garage screwed to the brickwork. As a test I tightened a screw very tight with the DeWalt & then tried to remove with a manual Snap-On screwdriver and I couldn't move it!It feels nice in the hand, 3 speed settings are useful & the 3 LED's give good lighting.Overall delighted with this.

Great quality from Dewalt as usual
As you'd expect from Dewalt, brilliant quality. This, in conjunction with a drill really sped up building a deck in the garden. I haven't actually drained the battery yet, but it last half a day of heavy use no problem {I charged at lunchtime). The 1st setting, marked as a screw is pretty pointless, very little torque, presumably for building flat pack furniture. But the 2nd setting is fantastic, there's a good level of feel and control through the trigger, but loads of power. It will happily strip the head if you give it one of the cheap screws you get included in a pack of hinges or something. I've never needed to use the 3rd and most powerful setting, presumably this is what they use to remove F1 tyes in less then a second.

Top Notch
Great Price on Amazon cheapest I found & included Battery & charger..So only used 2/3 times so far but it really packs a lot of Power and is more than I hoped for..Its Compact & Lightweight with 3 lights to illuminate the work area which is handy..Screws sailed into all the hard Woods I used ..So would definitely recommend this Drill It's hard to beat on Price especially with the Dewalt Badge giving piece of mind..Thanks

Quality impact driver - does the job.
I think the quality of DeWalt equipment is really top-notch considering they are more competitively priced than other well-known brand names. The price on Amazon was the lowest I could find and the driver is lightweight, easy to use even in confined spaces due to its' size. Recommended to me by a plumber who was using them and I totally agree with his advice.

Trully worth every penny
As many other reviewers already stated impact drivers make a world of difference for those used to conventional drill/driver combos. This particular impact is as good as any other DeWalt tool - power delivery (depending on the mode selected) is either gentle yet firm or just raw instantaneous surge (at 2 levels). It takes a short while to adjust to output levels as you command it via trigger but after few screws you have full control. Battery life is great too.In my case delivery was convoluted with first attempt going MIA, final delivery was eventually delayed by 2 weeks and for this reason I'm dropping 1 star.

Cuts the mustard
This made me realise what a major mistake I'd made not buying a Dewalt impact driver before now. It just powers through the jobs. The 4 Ah battery lasts all day and charges very quickly. It has massive torque which is gradually applied with a slow squeeze of the trigger. The seller did an amazing deal* and it came with the Dewalt plastic TSTAK compatible kitbox. This takes the driver, charger, spare battery and more room for your bits. Make sure you buy an impact set to go with it which includes pieces compatible with the quick release. *Only downside is I paid £171 and now it's £159, so get in quick.
