Jennifer the queen of the OMG endings that leave you desperate for the next book
(Reread Review)This review may contain some vague spoilers, not detailed plots, but still spoilers.Apollyon starts where Elixir left of. Alex it’s still connected to Seth completely crazy and wanting to murder everyone. After being put on the elixir she is even more mad and determined to get revenge on the people some weeks ago she considered friends, family, and the man she loved. We go back to Alex POV in Apollyon and seeing how her mind is working with this freaky connection is kind of scary…. Everything that made her who she was it’s just…gone. Just like she feared. The only thing that remains is that she still doesn’t like or trust Lucian, which is smart because we all know who the real evil is here, Lucian and whatever God is behind him. We get to see little of Seth in this book and the few we see its in Alex mind while they are connected, and man, I love Seth, but everytime I read Deity/Elixir/Apollyon I am so mad at him!! Not just the things he does, but the things he says, he is so lost, and he doesn’t even see it.And then there is Aiden and crew, after everything that happened in Elixir the rest of the gang is supporting Aiden in giving Alex a chance in believing she will manage to break free of the connection hold on her, even if that means going up against the Gods, even Apollo. Aiden never gives up on Alex even when the sh*t hits the fan and she breaks free, and runs off and Aiden risks everything in that moment including his life to make sure the Gods don’t get to Alex, and to get her back, and because love conquers all, Alex comes back, her love for Aiden is what finally gets her out of that nightmare and back to herself, the connecting still there but not having full control of her anymore. After that the plans starts to roll down, they need to do something to stop this madness, with Alex back to herself and Apollo back on their side they start setting things in motion and preparing for war…. Alex and Aiden have a few problems to resolve on this book, but they are yin and yang and they love each other so much and they work out everything together, they go on this super awesome special trip for something related to the main plan of action and that trip its wow. Jen really delivers on the mythical and magical and the really awesome on that trip. Alex also discovers something really big….something awful. We finally meet the Covenant University in this book and to get there they go through hell, and there is a loss that surprisingly affects more than you would think. The end of this book has a major anguish moment…we finally meet the God behind everything and its not pretty, that God is sick and something horrible happens in the last 10% of the book. I cried reading that, I was panicking, screaming at my kindle, my brain having trouble understanding what I was reading. That is a scene that no matter if it was my first read or a reread it crashes me completely everytime. The first time around I wasn’t expecting that but now, rereading? I kept remembering THAT was getting closer and got so anxious, like “I am not ready to read this again”.The gang starts to have major roles now. Olivia goes back to her not b*tch mode and she is still suffering because of Caleb but she is also so strong and determined! Lea is a surprise! I actually like her in this book, she is still a b*tch, but a cool one. Marcus and Alex family bond also grows a lot in this book and it’s so sweet seeing them bonding, Marcus changes a bit and we learn to like him. Solos is awesome! He is this flirting and funny Sentinel, who doesn’t care about anything most of the time but will fight to the dead for his friends and what he believes in! Laadan continues to be the mother figure of the group, and yes, she is still in love with Alex’s dad. And then Deacon and Luke…..I love those two!!!! Deacon is the best, he is this comic relief character but he is also super smart and observant, more then people give him credit for…all except Luke, because Luke sees right through the bullsh*t and who Deacon really is, and how amazing he is, and on the other hand Deacon is the soft and happy for Luke’s always alert and serious side, they are perfect together there is a small short story about them on Jen’s Wattpad and it’s the sweetest thing! Also, Deacon’s reaction everytime Apollo is around is priceless. But back to the story….The final war is here and fans of the Covenant series get ready because things will get worst before they get better and its going to be an amazing but harsh ride, but our heroes are awesome and they face it head on and the end is almost here!

Exciting! Captivating! Romantic! And Just Awesome!!!
Summary: Gods! This book is exciting, captivating, romantic and just plain awesome! Best Covenant book so far!Stars: 5+++ Aidentastic stars!!!Main Characters: Aiden St. Delphi, Alexandria "Alex" Andros, SethThemes: Swoontastic love, kicking ass, overcoming evil-the Gods-and the future God KillerGenre: Paranormal romanceWhat I ♥ The Most: Every.single.page. This whole series, really! Aiden is one of my top 3 book boyfriends and I fell a little harder for him in this book. And Alex-she is awesome! Even though I am "Team Boy" she is just too cool. I love her snarkiness. If You Liked This Try: Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. In my humble, blogger opinion, these two series are JLA at her best! These books are addictive, engaging page turners that will have you obsessing over the story and the characters. And the swoon scale is off the charts with both Aiden and Daemon Black (Lux). Please make sure you start with the correct book in the Lux series... here's the reading order! You should also try my other favorite paranormal series, The Premonition Series by Amy Bartol. It's fan-freakin-tastic! And OMG, Reed Wellington... sigh... just read it! Here's the reading order for Premonition books. So let's get to it.... and please DO NOT READ on if you have not read the other Covenant books up to Elixir. If you haven't read Apollyon, this reviewdoes not disclose any major plot lines.♥ Review ♥"CRAP ON A CRACKER"... soooo much happens in this book!"I was the Apollyon. I wielded control over the four elements, and fifth and most powerful-akasha. I fueled the God Killer. I was his power-up-the ace up his sleeve. I was the beginning and he as the end. And together, we were everything."Well, hold up, crazy Alex.First off, I have to say that I missed these books terribly. It had been months since I read a Covenant book and just getting back into this world... well, as dorky as it may sound, it felt like home. I was elated to read about Aiden and Alex again... to fall in love even more with Aiden, to hear Alex's snarky comments and even to read about Seth, in what I still think is his vulnerable and conflicted state of mind. Elixir ended so intensely... I seriously thought I wouldn't survive the months leading to the Apollyon release, but it was SO worth the wait.We begin with a caged Alex, the effects of the elixir gone. She is seething. She wants out. She wants to tear Aiden apart.Wait, what?!Yes, she's pissed."Boy, did I have a T-Rex-sized bone to pick with that pure-blood. Aiden St. Delphi stood on the other side of the bars. There, he was an immovable force. But without the protections from Hephaestus or Apollo between us, he would become an inconsequential nothing."No. No. No.Perfect pure-blood Aiden tries to convince power-crazed Alex to break her connection with Seth, who has continued to converse with her through their shared connection. Constrained in a cage secured by the god Hephaestus, Alex struggles with both sides of herself-the Apollyon side that is connected to Seth vs the side that is truly her, that deeply loves Aiden."I know you're still in there, Alex. Underneath that connection, you are still you. The woman I love."I have to tell you, during these early scenes, I really FEEL for Aiden. He wins the award for boyfriend of the year, for all that he has gone through for Alex... for the abiding belief he has in her... for the depth and altruism of the love he feels for her."But he was there. Like always, holding me up when I couldn't stand and letting me go when he knew I needed him to. He was more than just a shelter. Aiden was my other half, my equal. And he needed no weird Apollyon connection."But finally...and thankfully, after using compulsion and karate-chopping her friends, Alex "wakes" up and raises her mental shields against Seth. All the memories, however, flood her thoughts... the vacant person she was while on the elixir and the hostility she brandished while she was caged after her awakening. And Gods, what she put Aiden through... I felt badly for the guilt that consumed her.Meanwhile, outside of their cabin, the world is in chaos while the gods of Olympus manifest their emotions through rampant natural disasters. The gods are angry as a result of the actions of Lucian and Seth, whom are backed by a still unknown god.I'm also happy to report, that this book features a little more action between Alex and Aiden... yes, these JLA books have never been outright steamy, but I was happy to see them become more intimate this time around! C'mon... don't tell me you weren't too!But back to the very serious plot of overcoming evil... Apollo shows up and Aiden and Alex must visit the Underworld and face yet another round of dangers. I won't go into too much detail about what happens, but we learn a lot during this time. Big questions linger... How does Team Good stand a chance against Seth and Lucian when they are so protected? And what needs to be done? When Alex and Aiden return, the gang decides to enlist others in their fight... power in numbers... but when they arrive at the other covenant, nothing is as expected. And as Alex so eloquently says, "it was on like Donkey Kong."Throughout the book, Alex struggles with the expectation that she must kill Seth to stop the complete transfer of power to avoid Seth becoming the God Killer, and as the story progresses, the weight on her shoulders become even heavier. But again, I love her fight. I love her snarkiness. And I love that she cares deeply about others. Whereas Aiden is a "badass ninja," Alex is a warrior with heart, burdened with expectations she never chose to carry. And "holy baby daimons!" The book ends... again... where you NEED the next book desperately. It's not entirely a cliffhanger, but not an end with closure. I feel like the next book is going to be jam-packed with action and emotion and... I predict, some really big news/changes that will alter the notion of the Apollyon forever. (I have some very solid theories, but won't divulge yet).Overall, I have to repeat and say this is the BEST BOOK IN THE SERIES to date! It's so so so good."We're in this together, Alex. Don't ever forget that. We're in this together to the end."For more reviews, visit Vilma's Book Blog

AMAZING
I'm gonna start with I love love love this series so much lolMy reread of Apollyon the fourth book of the series, just wow so we carry on from we're we left off from elixir, alex is still bonded with her seth and wants everything he wants. Aiden her love of her life still believes and fighting that alex can come back from all this. This book is full of heart stirring emotion and spine tinkling excitment as we travel to new places and some mystery characters are seen again which I absolutely loved that they we're still in it.There is so much love for these characters and through the series iv got yet again so close to them all, Everytime time a fight scene comes I'm so scared of losing someone, as iv read each page iv seen alex grow and become so mature in herself and the others have become so strong as a group to fight beside alex and to safe the world and there loved ones. This is a thrilling read and some heart stopping moments, I can't tell you how much love I have for this series that jennifer l armentrout has done. Its a absolute must read and I promise you this series will stay with you forever.

Apolly-tastic!
** spoiler alert ** I don't even know where to begin in reviewing this book. i waited so long for it to turn up from amazon, and when it did i wanted to devour it and find out what happened, but it was hard as i was on holiday, but i eventually finished it Yay :)i loved all of it, i loved all the aiden and alex scenes. i really liked that Alex grew up in this one but kept all of her witty comments :) i liked that her and Markus are getting closer, that caleb and her mum came back to see her, an apollo i loved him oh and deacon.but it was all the sweet loving moments with Aiden that did it. i really can't wait for senital, is it december yet? i hope she dosen't die, i hope they find away for her to kill the god but to live and her and aiden can leave and live their perfect life with the cat and the dog :) i hope seth can be saved, i don't want him to end up with alex, but i do hope he can be saved :)Happy reading )

Worst ending ever and slaughtering of Greek myths
The Covenant reviews:#01 Half-Blood ❤❤#02 Pure ❤#03 Deity ❤#04 Apollyon ❤#05 Sentinel ❤Bonus books:#0.5 Daimon did not bother#3.5 Elixir did not botherI was recommended this book by a friend, so I figured that it couldn’t hurt to give this a try. But this book only seems semi decent, so far. I think it’s a matter of the idea being alright, but the execution is very, very bad. However, my friend did also say that it gets better, so I will be reading the entire series. Said friend has now lost all recommendation rights. Whenever I see her at work and she mentions books, I'm staying far away from that particular book. Fool me once...After dragging myself through this book because unfortunately, the third and fourth left much to be desired and in my personal opinion the author chose to focus too much on Alex. Don't get me wrong, the book is about her and her journey and Alex is powerful. But it's a shame when her greatest power is throwing emo tantrums to get her way, which she has mastered to perfection by now.She once again takes advantage of both Seth and Aiden, but hey, why not encourage bad behaviour. Also, I never understood the "I'm not afraid" in books where gods and Titans walk among them, does an all-powerful snarky girl really need her boyfriend to assure her, that it's alright to be afraid of the immortals and their power? Personally, I don't think there's anything remotely close to being a coward in knowing your strength and weaknesses, and I had really hoped she would mature enough to learn the same or something similar. The ending seems so very rushed and not proper researched because I for one would like to know when demigods turned out to be immortals. Please let's clarify the definition of a demigod: demigods are born into this and NOT created, at least in the Greek Mythology which this entire series is based on . Furthermore, a demigod has one mortal and one immortal parent - and they're often known to have skills similar to the godly parent, but they're 100% mortal. Jennifer L. Armentrout butchers the myths and changes this, by claiming demigods are IMMORTAL. Seriously poor imagination, or lack of research? One can't help wondering!!All the above aside I chose to return this entire series and received a full refund, through Amazon. This is not because I don’t like the books. All writing is a personal matter which is subject to interpretation, and as individuals, we can’t all like the same. The reason for is, that I don’t wish to support Jennifer L. Armentrout. Any writing says a lot about the person who wrote it, and Jennifer is not an exception. So, when she took serious problems that people of all ages battle on a daily basis, and made them entertaining, I couldn’t with a good conscience support that.📚 Bullying📚 Slut-shaming📚 Emotional blackmailThose are the three that are the reason for my main issues. If you’ve read my previous reviews you’ll know that I hold a special contempt for Alex, but that aside. The above listed should never be used in a celebratory way. It should be used to raise awareness, to help people find the courage to fight it or find help. Unfortunately, the character that is Alex promotes all the wrong things.

Addictive
Another fast-paced, addictive, page turner from Jennifer L. Armentrout. Seriously, these books are so hard to put down and I'm feeling a little annoyed that I've read them so fast, because now I only have Sentinel left and I'm already missing this series.Apollyon is epic and the plot twists and turns just keep on coming. I really loved how Alex and Aiden's relationship blossomed in this book and they are a real partnership now. I just couldn't get enough of those romance scenes, swoon-worthy in the extreme. I suspect I know what's around the corner for them, and I'm excited to see how the next chapter enfolds.I missed Seth dreadfully in this book, yes - he's there, at the end of the cord, but it's not the same. Poor Seth, he's just so lost and all he wants is to be truly loved. I really hope Alex can get through to him because I'd hate it if she actually did have to kill him.I suspected Romvi from the start, and in Deity, I pretty much figured it out. All the same, he turned into an even nastier piece of work than I'd expected.Alex has matured in this book and it was a natural progression for her, though I loved her when she was being consistently snarky and irrational.I think my favorite scene of the novel was when Alex and Aiden were in the Underworld. To combine romance, action, and suspense so expertly is the sign of a really talented author. This is an incredible series; awesome writing, engaging characters, action packed plot and compelling dialogue. A must read for all fans of YA fiction.

Review - EndlessReadingBlog
Totally worth the 5 start rating! This book kicks off where Elixir ends, Aiden had to give Alex the Elixir serum to protect her, protect his loved ones.At the beginning we see Alex returning back to how she was before the Elixir, bitchy, moody, dam right rude! She's a feisty character and doesn't take any shit from anyone, especially Aiden. We learn that they may just be a way for Alex to survive this, for her to take away the God Killer's power from Seth, but to get the answer they must delve into the realms of the dead.....THE UNDERWORLD!Now you might remember that Alex has been here before, after Caleb died, her experience then wasn't good so as you can image the experience that her and Aiden get when they go again....well lets to just say I would of crumbled at the 1st hurdle they came across.Alex and Aiden seem to be progressively getting closer, I think Aiden has finally come to terms with the feelings that he has for Alex and if the world is going to end he might as will live it the the max....you know the saying "You only Live Once" totally applies for them.I LOVE Aiden, then again I still feel something for Seth, I know he's a jerk, and is on a high, mighty, power trip at the moment, but I just can't seem to budge this feeling I have for him. He only wants to be loved and to love someone back. He needs comfort and reassurance. I do hope that he does get through this hurdle that he's against, because to be truthful I do see a good guy inside of him despite being the First of the Apollyon.Aiden's character is truly amazing. He takes on his duty to the full of his potential but what makes me love him even more is the love he has for Alex. He came face to face with some truly unimaginable choices that he had to make for the sake of Alex's life. You can tell how much he adores this girl, the love he has for her. How much he is willing to do for her. These two characters are by far the best series couple I have come across. SERIOUSLY. He is a total swoonworthy Guy and Alex is such a fighter, a demi-goddess in her own way! They truly are made for one another, a match made in heave (or Olympus). The Olympus scene at the end of the book (sorry but I won't tell you what happens, I don't want to spoil it for ya's) was truly heartbreaking. I mean seriously, after everything the poor girl has gone through that happens? I can understand why though, she needed that little extra push in making the right decision, and I think in the end she will! What will happen with Seth now? Will love conquer all? What evil plans does Ares have up his sleeve? Will Alex be able to cope with the decisions she has to make?I'm sure Jen will give us the answers to all our probing question in the release of "Sentinel" coming December 2013!
