English oak, beautiful, easy to use
I was too excited to wait for the intended project. These "old" IKEA boxes will be used under the bed frame I plan to stain next. Pictures are first coat still wet, first coat drying/still working, two coats drying, and next morning with an original color box for comparison.Super easy and quick to use. WEAR GLOVES and protect whatever surfaces you're using if you don't want to give it more character. I used a small (1") foam brush and dipped it straight into the bottle. Re-cap and shake the bottle to stir occasionally.I love the color but plan to do maybe 2 more coats and find a suitable wax once I'm satisfied with the color.

Good but for too expensive for 500ml of stain
ive been working with stains about 20 years and as water based stains go this is very good, i would say the medium oak colour is bang on, it goes on well and is fairly easy to get a consistent stain.so why the 3 stars? well im afraid i fell into the amazon prime trap, i needed medium oak stain next working day and i ordered rustins for 5 quid, it was terrible and amazon refunded, because it let me down and i was i a rush without thinking i defaulted to amazon prime forgetting that the likes of wood finishes direct can supply next working day . the end result? i spent £14 on something thats really only worth £6 or so.. this stain is good but for 500ml its really over priced, dont buy this if you have a big project to do

Easy to use with an excellent result
Many years ago I used to use spirit wood dyes. This water-based wood dye completely changed my view. it is easy to use, produces a first-class finish and the instructions are excellent. As with anything though, do a little online research as to how to use the stain and finish it. Sand the wood, raise the grain with a wet cloth, allow to dry and re-sand with fine 'wet and dry' paper (used dry!), then apply two even coats of stain, allowing to dry between each coat; once dry finish with your preferred product - in my case, several coats of dark French polish, very lightly rubbed down between each coat with fine (0000 grade) wet and dry paper (wiping away the dust produced) to achieve a superb sheen and a depth of colour that only a dark, 'garnet' french polish will achieve - and I cheated by using a brush to apply it!

Fantastic product
I used this stain on untreated solid wood (I think pine) from IKEA. I used a sponge brush to apply and I'm thrilled with the results. No streaking, great coverage and colour looked exactly as pictured after only one coat.Cleanup was easy. Will use this brand again

Antique Pine - Perfect
We ordered the antique pine stain for our freshly sanded floorboards. I have tried to show you the different colours of before staining, painting the stain on, once it’s dried, then painting on varnish and finally the finished floor as we couldn’t find any large projects showing this particular colour.I found the stain very easy to apply with a paint brush, I didn’t think I would have enough at one point but was proven wrong as a little goes a long way. It dried quite even and gave a nice warm aged look to our floorboards which looked far too new for an old house. I have just applied the last layer of varnish (not Littlefairs) and I’m really pleased with the look.

Messy but good
I think I have managed to make this the messiest job ever in the history of creation ! certainly my fault , not the product ! decent sized bottle which will last for ages , good set of instructions . I did try using paper towel to apply the first coat which gives a fairly light transparent finish , I was after a darker finish so applied the next coat with a paint brush - complete coverage and very solid black which I will knock back a bit with abrasive before waxing , touch dry in my unheated workshop in 20 mins or so . brush and pot cleaned up easily with water . Before you start .. lay out news paper , it will drip a bit off the brush and it does go a very long way

Had to leave a review because, wow.
Ok, so I took on an upcycling project of a TV cabinet and coffee table and it almost drove me insane with the sanding the spindles the eggshell paint taking millennia to dry between coats. By far the most stress free, enjoyable part was staining the stripped pine. I's was fully prepared for it to be a streaky mess because, why would it go smoothly when nothing else had, but I used a fine grit to finish the sanding, no wood conditioner, no wetting to raise the grain, just applied one coat with a sponge brush. Went on beautifully, finished with a wipe from a damp cloth (as instructed on the bottle), left to dry, few coats of Danish oil and I'm beside myself. It's turned out beautifully (I used golden oak, gorgeous, warm tones, and not too dark with just one coat)

Brilliant Product
The product was a little late in delivery by DPD due to virus but that is understandable. I contacted the seller to why it was late and if there was any problems, I was assured with a speedy reply. Lovely small business and would buy again on our next project. The colour is exactly what I wanted and I can't wait to finish off sanding to then revamp to our banister in our new home! The stain is water based and the 2.5 Litre I ordered will be enough to cover our banister at least 2 times to get the colour we want. Very happy!
