They do protect
Making friends with a feral cat but still "plays" rough. These protect me well with no teeth or claw penetration. The only downside is that the fingers are stiff but will likely loosen up with some wear.

I use for handling/taming feral kittens after spaying/neutering! They have saved my arms and hands.
They work great for what I purchased them for. I can't say if these would hold up to all animals but they have helped save feral to semi feral kittens! I work with a group that traps, gets them spayed/neutered, socializes/tames them, then adopts them out to responsible new homes.

More love,less bandaids!
These gloves take a little bit of time to break them in but if you're patient them as we are with critters you will use less bandaids.
