Incredible value, simple to set up, excellent quality
I haven’t subscribed to cable TV in 20 years, and the Internet and broadband-fueled services like Netflix and Disney+ have provided more TV than one person could ever require. However, occasionally there are things that I wanted to watch that are only available on ‘regular’ TV, like certain sporting events, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and things like that. So a low-priced device to satisfy those specific needs is what I wanted and needed. Cue Amazon Basics’ Indoor Flat TV antenna. I couldn’t be happier. It’s like a whole universe of free content has suddenly been returned to my life. While I won't be subscribing ti TV Guide to keep track of when Murder She Wrote is on, it does make it a lot easier to watch daily news, and network programming.Setting up the device was as simple as plugging it in, using the supplied coaxial cable, into the back of my 4K HDTV (make sure your TV has one, as my 7.1 surround sound bar has plenty of HDMI inputs but no coaxial ports), having the TV do a one-time scan for available channels, and BOOM, all finished. Flipping through channels is as easy as pressing the channel button on my TV remote control. The picture quality ranges from super sharp (typically the major networks) to VHS quality (random networks that pop up in the scan). I found a few football games that were crystal clear. It’s not 4K as far as I can tell, but a stable 1080p running at high framerate during sportscasts and regular 24fps during normal TV shows.I can’t confirm the sound quality in regards to how many channels it separated into, as I am watching it on a TV without an amplifier, but the sound quality is fine regardless. You’d need to check what audio signal your local network channels broadcasts in to be sure.In any case, we’re well past the days of rabbit ear antennas and trying to get the least snowy picture. I can’t believe this device is only $19.99. One of the best values on Amazon.

This is what I needed at a fantastic price! Lesson Learned!
I had two of these but one had the plastic connection at the bottom and wimpy cord connection (DO NOT BUY THOSE), when that broke, and it never really worked very well anyway. I wanted to replace it with a flat antenna like my first one. The first one my son purchased for me has a connection for a coax cable at the bottom, this is what you want not the plastic BS which when moving around somehow breaks something inside and the cord is flimsy. So I went looking for a replacement at some of my local neighborhood stores and they were selling the ones with the plastic thing at the bottom attached to a totally inferior cord for $54-$56. When I explained that the ones with the coax cable connection worked much better, I was assured no, I probably was not using it correctly, ok yeah right! Of course the one I have that is attached to the coax cable is working just fine for maybe 5 or 6 years now. Anyway, I couldn't find one so I went back to Amazon and they still do stock the ones that connect with the coax and bought it at reasonable price - a whole lot less than $50 bucks! I have my own coax cable and used mine. So now I'm back in business, get 60 channels over Air on both TV's and I'm happy. Just remember to only purchase the one that you can connect a coax cable to the bottom (one end of the cable connects to the antenna and the other end to your TV) and you'll be fine. I can't believe I spent almost 2 weeks searching and could only found that plastic crap with an inferior cable attached. Live & Learn!

This works better than a powered antenna, read before buying one!
Originally I purchased the, AmazonBasics Indoor Flat TV Antenna. It was rated very highly by several tec reviews including C-Net. It worked pretty well but some channels would come in only some of the time. This occurred even after moving this antenna multiple times and re-scanning for channels. Thought I could do better soI bought HDTV Antenna, 2019 Indoor Amplified Digital TV Antenna 120Miles (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NRSWB6Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) which did an ok job. Save your money and buy the AmazonBasics antenna which pulled in almost 20 more channels, in general reception was clearer, and at a lower cost. The only complaint I have about the AmazonBasics antenna is it comes with a very short coaxial cable. Had to attach a longer one which provided better reception so factor that into your cost decision making. I found that a 25' cable looping the the amount not needed with a twist tie, near to where the antenna is secured, worked pretty well.

Placement Very Sensitive
I live just west of Seattle, Washington and overall my satisfaction with this antenna is in the Fair category. I put the antenna in the third floor cupola where there are six large windows (the cupola is a hexagon), and it was a real struggle finding the best placement for it. I spent a good hour plus moving the antenna around and trying different locations and then re-scanning the channels over and over, and I ended up putting the antenna in the bottom corner of one of the windows facing South. This antenna is VERY sensitive to not only the location but also the EXACT direction the flat panel faces. Also, the 10 foot cable very much limits placement options unless you're willing to relocate your TV, which is usually not practical. They should just replace the 10 foot cable with a 20 foot and maybe charge another buck or so, this could help alleviate at least some of the frustration.
