Update: December 3rd 2015With use and compression socks, these boots loosened up to a proper fit. Unfortunately, I abused the boots to the point that a hole developed in my right boot. I'll have to say that the maker of the boots did not design them to be used as working boots while cutting down trees and splitting wood, I can say they were also not designed for a tactical environment either.And after seeing the dramatic price increase, I highly recommend that you do not waste your hard earned money on these boots.But that is not a problem for an Army veteran.I listed these boots as fitting a little tight, but that may fix itself after being broken in.Update: 8/01/2011After an extensive hike to break these boots in, I'll have to admit these boots are very comfortable. They did loosen up a bit, but they still fit about a half size too small.I noticed another review that said these boots cracked on them, I guess they need to learn how to take care of leather products like this. The leather is of the same quality of the combat boots I was issued when I first joined the US Army. I would suggest cleaning them with saddle soap and keeping them polished with black boot polish. Leather dye can be used to cover any scrapes that go past the boot polish.I would compare these boots to Herman Survivors and Rocky combat style boots, but I hope Ridge Wear lasts longer than those.

Very good fit. My previous pair lasted 8 years of heavy use. Well made boots. I like the fact that there is very little break in required.

Great price for a durable boot. I have arthritis and have trouble with lacing up boots/shoes so the side zipper immensely helps. The added back loop also gives a helping hand with putting on the boots.

These are very comfortable boots, broken in very quickly. Overall I am very pleased with them, however I received these 5 days ago and the outer Material is already pealing off in some places. To be fair, they have been worn every day since i received them for upwards of 15 hours a day with heavy activity. But on that same note, they have remained comfortable and supportive through those long days as well.

Received these at the end of Oct, didn't started wearing them until November. The crease on top has already cracked.

good shoe very durable I love it. It's not waterproof but it has a good sole. It could use a better insert

I bought these in June (its now November) they have torn at the crease on both sides where the toes meet the foot. otherwise they are very comfortable. If you need something heavy duty, these are not the ones. They do not hold up under a lot of wear and activity. if you want a pair to polish and wear rarely for special occasions they may do the trick. For boots that only lasted 5 months, they were a waste of money and i'd like mine returned.
