The A065 light from Hipargeo is a good choice to consider when looking at lights in its class and price range. Comparing this to other lights I currently own and use in this category including Kessil and Fluval, I wouldn't hesitate to get this light again for other tanks and projects where I want flexibility in lighting but not to a degree where I want finer control and more sophisticated options like scheduling and effects, etc. (these are at least almost 4X the price so really is a different category altogether).The box is well packed so that everything should arrive to your door steps safely. Ironically, it's almost too well packed in that the light is extremely snug inside the foam casing. PRO TIP: Don't pull it by the cord but ease it out by grabbing the bag that surrounds the light \ ball...it should slide out easily.Content-wise, the light comes with everything you need to set it up -- except the batteries...you'll need to get 2 AAAs to make adjustments. Otherwise, the light will power on with its factory settings. Inside the box, there's a large power supply, the light (of course), mounting bracket for the tank, two other brackets for the elbow and the top and four rod sections -- two long, two short.While the instructions didn't specify which sections should go where, I can only assume this provides flexibility to assemble the configuration length that suits your tank. For mine, I put the two long shafts together for height, and the two short sections to adjust with the with since I will be using this on my mushroom "frag" tank that was once a Fluval Spec V (which is practically the same as the EVO 5 except for the light and color of the brackets, btw).At first, I wasn't sure about the design choice of the light as it looks like a disco ball in the picture but seeing it in person and mounted on my tank, I like it a lot. I think it looks great mounted on my tank and a lot cleaner than brackets and mounts of my other lights.Powering on the light, I immediately noticed the vibrant colors coming through from the frags in my tank compared to other lights I had tried on the tank (check out pic of some of eclectus and bounce shrooms). I appreciate the ability to adjust the intensity and turn certain channels on \ off. Also, the light does have a built-in fan that runs pretty quiet, and even more so than the Aqamai LRM on my other tank.There are a few quirks but bearing in mind the price-to-value, it doesn't warrant taking away a star as I probably have as much or more things to pick on for others in this class or even more expensive than the A065. I'll briefly mention a few:1) In order to adjust the intensity after the light first powers on, you have to change one of the channels first like turning it off and back on.2) When the light powers on again after being off, all channels are on even if the last state was only running one channel. For example, if I only want to run blues on Channel 2 I can do so but after either I manually turn off the light or my timer does, the next time the light comes on, all channels are firing.Again, small nit-picks considering what you are getting for the price.That being said, I did test this with a timer and the light works fine with it and seem to remember last intensity state, not the choice of which channel was on/off prior to shutdown. I've also tried completely unplugging the light and it seem to remember last intensity state as well, which is good since you don't want to be frying your frags after a recovery from power failure.Again, I think you get a lot of functionality for the price and I wouldn't hesitate getting the more A065s for future projects.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Went out on a limb and bought this even with the limited number of reviews and otherwise almost nonexistent reputation/presence online. I am pleased to say I am happy with my purchase. My ONLY complaint is the lack of a timer or sunrise/sunset/storm patterns. Overall, this light is very solid in manufacturing and nothing about it feels or looks cheap. As others have said, it is packaged very well. I first noticed that all the cords were rather thick (not bulky) and maleable and seem to be high quality. Secondly, all the metal rods and parts that make up the construction had a thick layer of paint, nothing chiped even when changing the configuration of the rods several times. Still all black. Lastly, due to the 2 different lengths of rods there are unlimited positions and angles to mount the light even with limited space. I am impressed with the overall quality of the light for sure. Definitely worth the extra $40 compared to lesser quality black box or other LEDs in the 100 dollar price range.All signs point to this growing my corals beautifully once they're in.I will update in the future if anything changes or developes.

I have only had this light a month and it is blinking on and off and you can no longer use it. I have to say customer service is great with this product. I emailed them and sent them a video of my blinking light and within two days I had a replacement. I gave 4 stars because the light is generally good and I like it. Just had some glitches.

Was easy to install. Fish and coral are happy.Not sure how to turn off the fan inside the light when light is turned off with the remote without unplugging the whole thing. Other than that no complaints.

I like the design. However, the remote control for this item was not in the box, so, it won't work without it and my emails to the company have gone unanswered.

tired of foreign products. this items doesn't cut it

Love this light by hipargero. Awesome build quality. My nems and sps are definitely growing and getting great color . If you are looking for an led in this price range that works this is the one .
