[UPDATED] Not perfect, but currently the best portable high chair option
-------------------------UPDATE 11/4/2018-------------------------I still like this high chair, but I'm increasingly frustrated with the way our daughter ends up positioned due to its shape. The main problem is the location of one particular retraining strap: the one at the front center of the seat (the one that comes up between your little one's legs). This strap is so far forward on the seat that our daughter's bottom ends up sliding down and forward in the chair so she is in a slouching position. When you combine this with the fact that the tray sits pretty high, she ends up with the tray almost right in front of her face. You can adjust the length of this seat strap, but you can't change the fact that it is attached so far forward on the seat, so I haven't figured out a way to fix this problem. One possible solution would be to put a folded towel or something behind her back so she sits further forward in the seat to begin with, but this might put her chest right up against the tray. Very frustrating!I will continue to fiddle with different possible solutions and post any useful tips I come up with.-------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW-------------------------The search for a good portable high chair had vexed me for quite some time. When I researched them I found several models that seemed to sell well, but all of them had issues that were deal breakers for me. Most commonly were:- too short- difficult to open and close- a slanted tray that ends up dumping food in your little one's lap- leg holes that are too tightThen I came across this model by One2Stay and decided to take a chance based on the product's description and photos. I'm glad I did! It's not perfect, but it's certainly better than the other models I have seen. Here's what I like about this chair:1) Unlike other portable high chairs, this one is NOT too short. Yes, the seat is a few inches lower than the one in our non-portable high chair, but it's nowhere near as short as some others we considered. I included a photo of the chair at a standard 30-inch-high table for reference.2) The tray is solid and stays horizontal even when you put your little one in the chair. It attaches by sliding over the chair's front supporting poles, and it has straps that secure it to the frame beneath the seat. Your little one is not going to be able to disconnect this tray easily!3) The tray is an acceptable size. Yes, it's smaller than the tray you'd find on most non-portable high chairs, but the whole point of this chair is that it's portable. With that in mind, the tray is perfectly usable for picnics and such.4) The chair is easy to fold and unfold. It's nice to know I won't be the star of any "Dad versus the High Chair" wrestling videos at our outdoor events.5) It comes with a carrying case -- and unlike many carrying cases, this one isn't just an afterthought. You know those cases where you find yourself struggling to cram a chair back in, red-faced and uttering phrases your kids probably shouldn't be hearing? Not so here; this one is sturdy, cinches shut with a drawstring, and is large enough that you can put the chair back into it easily. It even has a separate pouch to store the tray.6) The foot rest -- well, it doesn't really function as a foot rest because it's pretty flimsy. However, it does prevent your child's feed and calves from bumping into the frame beneath the seat, which could otherwise be uncomfortable.7) The leg openings are adequately sized - no cutting off your child's leg circulation.8) It's lightweight - deceptively so. Fortunately the legs angle out at the bottom, giving it a wide base which prevents it from tipping over easily. (But see Tip #2 below.)Admittedly, there are a few small things I don't like:1) Although the tray attaches very securely, you attach it by sliding it over the chair's front supports -- fabric and all (see photo). This is a little trickier than I'd like it to be. Also, I'm worried that this is eventually going to fray the fabric on the chair, but only time will tell.2) The instructions could be a bit clearer. That said, it doesn't require an advanced degree to figure out how this chair works.A few tips:Tip #1: Depending on your child's size, it may be easier to put your little one into the chair AFTER you attach the tray. When I try to attach the tray with my daughter in the chair I can attach one side, but then she always pushes the tray up before I can attach the second side, which causes the first side to become dislodged.Tip #2: Because this chair is so lightweight, you probably want a second person to hold the chair down when you extract your child from it; otherwise you'll usually end up lifting the chair with the child.I would normally give this item 4 stars, but I'm bumping it up to 4.5 stars because I haven't found another portable high chair that could truly compete with this one. As I said above, all the others I considered had issues that were deal breakers for me.

Great purchase
We love this high chair for our son. We use it all the time both inside and outside. It's a great high chair to have when you're going visiting somewhere like Grandma and Grandpa's house or an aunt's house who may not have a high chair. We love it so much we are even considering trying to get another one as a gift for a family member who is expecting soon. Please keep in mind when you put the tray on it is a snug fit but it works great. Make sure the seem on the material goes in between the slots of the plastic tray piece when putting it on.

Not as perfect, but the best one so far
The legs of my toddler fit very comfortably, the fastener is weird, the strap placed in the front between the legs of my daughter is too far forward and far from the shoulder straps and it makes my daughter slide forward and she ends in a slouching position. We ended up not using the straps and putting a towel behind her back so she doesn’t slide and can use the tray. The tray is too high also and my little one is not as tall, so sometimes we also ended up removing the tray. This are the only bad things about this portable chair, otherwise is perfect and fits anywhere to travel

Great product!!
This is an amazing product!! We use it all the time - we bring it to family gatherings, we bring it outside by the grill because our child cannot stand yet, and it is so easy to pack up and carry. It will be perfect for bringing on the plane when we travel - definitely a recommended purchase!!

It's like the tray is not for this model high chair. You have to force it to go on.
I WANTED to give this 5 stars but unfortunately only the idea is 5 stars. The actual design is only 1 star. I researched portable high chairs & this was the only one I found to have a hard tray. The first one we ordered lasted approximately 1 month before the plastic clip on the tray that slips over the chair arm broke. (see attached photos)We thought maybe it was just a lemon so I requested a replacement. The second one arrived & it is designed the same way. I'm so disappointed because I loved the idea of being able to fold up the high chair & slip into the carrying bag it came with. We will be returning disappointed.

A great concept for a seat but not the quality required
Stitching came away on the side when used 4th time and also tray didn't fasten down fully at one side so had to use cable ties
