I like this little stick welder and used the 3/32 welding rods to weld 1/8th inch sheet metal just to test it out. I got this so I do not have to roll out my mig welder for small jobs.

I have several welders, but this little hand-held welder is awesome. You just plug it in, ground your work and run a bead! It's that easy! Of course, there's some prep (grinding, brushing, etc.) involved like with any welding project. Always use safety equipment, too. Just because it's easy to use, don't discount the need for safety equipment. It may not be quite as easy to use as a wire-feed, but it's fun. I like stick-welding personally, so maybe I'm biased. But, I wholeheartedly recommend this welder.

Pretty impressed. I bought it thinking it would not really work but on very thin metal. While it’s made for small projects I was impressed. I have 3 other elders all a large up to 3 phase. While this won’t do what a high quality welder will do it’s perfect for small projects that you don’t want to pull the big stuff out for. I’m going to keep it in my camper and would be confident I could make small repairs to get out of the woods in a pinch.

This welder is not for big or even perhaps medium jobs. But they don’t advertise it for that either. It will weld however and works very well on thin metals. I was surprised how well it did work.

Let me start out by saying I'm not a welder. I have a small mig welder and I have "successfully" welded a few things around the house but it wasn't pretty by any stretch.I got this little welder because of the previous reviews. Everyone said it worked great and was easy to use. They are correct. This little tool is very easy to use. Much easier for us newbies that have no idea what we're doing. I've welded a few different things for small projects I've done and it came out MUCH better with this tool than my mig welder. Still not a beautiful seam but much nicer, much cleaner and requiring for less grinding and clean-up. I recommend for anyone that doesn't use a welder regularly. You really can't go wrong at this price point.

Don't waste your money on this item. I purchased it in February. Used it for the first time today April 29. It arked and it stopped. Deader than a doornail, and no refund due to over 30 days since purchase. It is garbage, I've been welding for years, I know what I'm doing. This item is junk before you receive it.
