Spindles fit, require drawdown to thrust to spec.
Spindles operate perfectly. When installing, at least in the one shipped to me, you have to draw The spindle shaft up by torqueing down on the pully nut . What this means, is that the shaft will rise towards the pulley until bedded, allowing for the splined ends to properly slide into the pulley. The blades and the belt seem to be of sufficient quality.Blades need to be sharpened, of course. The reason for the low rating is that the overall diameter of the spindle pulleys shipped with the kit is significatny larger in combination with the Craftsmans OEM pulleys. What this means, is that the pulley brakes (levers with pads on them, used to stop the pulleys when the PTO is disengaged) constantly rub on the kits pulleys because they are, of course, larger than the OEM ones. When you first start the mower, you may miss this detail. So the pulleys will remain idle, with the brakes, far more firmly engaged to the pulleys because of their greater diameter, but then will excessively wear as they attempt to stop the aftermarket pulleys.I disengaged the PTO (Lever/cable actuated) and of course observed the deck mechanism.I watched the brakes move forward to engage the pulley face, then immediately grind down the remaining pad material, which functioned perfectly with the OEM pulleys, to nothing, and start shooting sparks off the now bare contact surface of the pulley brake face.Still using this kits components, but reinstalling the OEM pulleys and a new set of pulley-brakes has ameliorated this problem. So, in short.- Spindles are acceptable and function as expected., comparable to OEM once properly torqued.- Blades are of same quality as OEM, but need sharpening (of course).- Pulleys exceed OEM diameter by several millimeters, resulting in excessive pulley-brake wear. Replaced with OEM pulleys, and the system functioned as expected.

Tighten those pulley nuts!
I replaced the mandrels in my 42" Craftsman LT2000. I was so proud that I did all the work myself until after an hour of mowing it started to make a terrible noise. After taking the deck apart again, I saw that one spindle had already completely stripped and both new pulleys and were now worthless. I was able to use one if my old pulleys to replace the new one, but had to order another new mandrel! The bearing was completely ruined. To be honest, I'm not sure if there was a manufacturer defect or if I didn't tighten the pulley nuts enough. Either way, got to wait another few days to get my acre mowed.

Broke after a couple weeks!
Editing, after only a couple weeks, the entire thing broke! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Everything fit our craftsman LT 2000. The only complaint would be the blades were cheap and bent beyond use on the first use. Since we did not order this product for the blades we were pleased with the remaining items. We simply sharpened our old blades and put them back on. So if you are ordering this for the blades, don’t! If for the remaining parts then this kit works just fine is a good value.

I bought for the spindles, those were good.
The spindles and belt we're good, but the blades included are junk. They bend and warp at the first tiny impact. I'm sure if you are mowing a golf course where the grass is all you are cutting they'll work okay, but the first twig or pine cone and they're done.

Could be better, but worked out for me.
Everything arrived on time and as pictured. Overall install was easy. Had to remove the pulleys that were in the kit and install the original OEM pulleys though. The ones that were sent to me had little to no engagement to the splines on the spindles. One was bad enough that it just spun on the splines. Luckily I didn't really need the pulleys. Other than that, It all worked great.

Would buy again
The new pulleys that came with it are garbage.(may have just been the ones I got) They had a LOT of slop and play in them. I ended up using my old ones that had very little play. Everything else has been top notch. No vibrations. No noises. Very smooth and the belt was the correct size.

Fit perfectly and works well so far.
Ordered this kit because the mower on my well used 18 year old Craftsman lawn tractor finally started to disintegrate. Everything fit perfectly and it now mows like a new machine. Time will tell if the new parts stand up as well as the old ones, but so far so good.
