RUSTINS Quick Dry Step and Tile Paint, Red, 500 ml (Pack of 1)

Used this paint to restore some old window sills in our 1950s built house. The window sills were originally made from doorstep tiles and were looking awful, so I was considering paying someone to replace them, which would have likely cost a couple of £hundred.Thought I'd try painting them the colour they would have been originally instead, using this paint. They now look fantastic, almost like new. Only took 2 coats, and the paint dries within a few hours so it was all done within an afternoon. Saved me a lot of money too. Highly recommend for this purpose!

What an amazing product! After many years of having a traditional 'Cardinal' red step I decided it was time for a change and having painted my door burgundy/wine (Monarch) my russetty red step clashed. A black step was the perfect solution especially as my door 'furniture' is now black. When I opened the can of Rustins the paint seemed quite thin, but do not be deceived by this as coverage is fantastic, so easy to use and no drips or runs. It has excellent pigmentation, you could probably get away with one coat but I am happy to add a second coat as advised to be sure of a perfect density of colour. Another bonus is that brushes are cleaned in seconds using only water! The step is 'touch dry' in half an hour and can be painted again after 2 - 3 hours. There are other black step paints on the market but one of the top brands (Ronseal) has a grainy non slip matte finish (described as satin) something I didn't want as imho non slip matte is more siutable for a shop/business environment. I am delighted with my new glossy, very black step and would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a similar result! :-)

The paint is fine and dries really quickly so handy for me as I only have one entrance. Goes on smoothly and smells fine. I have used 4 coats so hopefully it'll be durable.

Never use anything else except this paint for our porch . When you open tin the paint will look blue but make sure you stir it until its red, it will take a good few minutes of thorough stiring. It dries very quickly & it is tough. I re paint it about once a year to keep it looking nice. Great stuff!

You need to stir and stir until it goes from grey to red! Goes on easily and looks great!

On the brochure it is stated that you can paint the stairs. But after painting with this paint, the paint chips off very quickly. It's best not to walk on the painted ones and not put anything on them.

This is one best outside step paints iv bought lovely smooth finish and stays clean great value for money. Small tin but goes a long way. Thanks amazon.

The colour was more terracotta than the original red but looked good after painting. The neighbour wanted her steps painted too. The paint went on easily, covered well and dried very quickly. I only painted one coat
