What do I use the blind stitch foot for? The blind stitch foot is used for sewing a blind stitch seam. This is a seam that cannot be seen as a continuous seam on the right side of the fabric as it only plays the fabric. This blind stitch is particularly suitable for hemming skirts, dresses or trousers. Especially for garments that want to look elegant and high quality, the blind stitch seam is perfect, because it is invisible on the outside of the garment. How do I use the blind stitch foot? The blind stitch foot is clicked into the presser foot holder from below. The seam allowance of the hem must then be covered with the overlock machine or a zigzag stitch. Then the fabric must be folded in at the hem. For this purpose, it is best to mark the right hem line with tailor's chalk on the right side of the fabric. You then turn the fabric on this line. The fabric is then folded again as shown in the picture. The hem depth is now left of the fracture and right of the fracture should be approx. 5mm (right side top). If you place the fabric under the presser foot, the break should be detected from below with the white spacer. The spacer lies to the right of the breakage. You now have to adjust the blind stitch on the sewing machine. Good to know: presser feet (blind stitch foot, ruffle foot). When sewing, you should set the slowest speed of your machine, or turn on the hand wheel. When sewing, a few normal straight stitches are always sewn, then the machine sews a zigzag stitch to the left. This stitch should only capture a few threads in the breakage. Try the stitch on some sample pieces until you feel comfortable with the stitch and get a perfect sewing result.
