Wouldn't fit in Dell E5440
I ordered two of these for two identical E5440 laptops. However, neither of them would fit. The caddy would not slide in all the way as the release catch keeps hitting up against something inside both laptops. So they had to be returned. I since bought a generic caddy from amazon for £6.50 and it doesn't have the release catch on it so fits perfectly. Swapped the plastic end plate over and it looks like the original CD drive from the outside. I also bought a separate enclosure for the CD Drive for £13.99 which turned out to be an actual drive, not just the enclosure to put my CD writer into. Weirdly, this worked out cheaper than buying this kit. However I now have the old CD writer that came out of the laptop kicking around doing nothing so may order an actual enclosure this time. I just need to pay attention to what I'm ordering.
