Bought this device because my daughter had iffy wifi signal upstairs at the other end of the house for her homework. Setup was a snap! A few days later my modem died and I had to get a new one from my internet provider. Got a much better modem (with integrated wireless router) as mine had been an older model. Of course then I had to set up the Extender again... But I was curious which had the better signal - the new modem/router combo or the extender. So I grabbed my phone and started walking while watching the bars from both the new modem/router and my extender on my network screen on my phone. One house away, one of the bars from my modem/router vanished. Two houses away - two more bars disappeared. Three houses and I was down to a single bar, but the extender signal was still full bars! A couple of years ago I had run a cable from my router to my Blu-Ray player because my wireless signal was weak. Now I've rolled up that cable and it now resides in my box of miscellaneous computer stuff. Extender screams in streaming video! No complaints at all.I purchased this in a panicked fervor. Would it work to reach the depths of our partially underground priso... er... mother-in-law suite? Would it really help to make my life easier (read: less naggy)? I had no clue, but it was worth a try.Thank you for saving the day!

Unstable - Unreliable - unable to return - stay away
It definitely gets the three U's as this thing although looked to have awesome potential and was pretty easy to get going but a little confusing if you've never used devices like this before but once configured and working..it was a waste of money, time and space. Once in its configuration of repeater or bridge, it would shut-off and reset or freeze on its own under any real type of load. It also popped a GFI breaker although only once and I can't be certain it was the fault of the device it did on its own not once be able to stay operable from day one. I even let it sit for a few days working on small traffic only to use it the third-day by doing my normal workday or uploading video and it would freeze. Its jut not that great of a product. Looked great on paper but horrible overall for a 2.

Confusing - Conflicting Instructions
This was delivered to my home late yesterday evening. As both the Bears and Cubs were playing, I didn't try installing it until this morning - fortunately! I received an email this morning with additional installation/set up instructions. I faithfully printed out the new instructions - yes, there were two different sets of instructions in the email. I started the set up using the instructions that came with it - seemed logical. The initial steps had me plug it in and wait for the green light to come on. That didn't happen - I checked the other instructions and blue is now the color - that I got. The text in the email provided another clue but I didn't really accomplish anything until I went to the PDF instructions. Between switching to those and using Chrome instead of Edge in setting it up happened without much difficulty. Obviously since I just got it up and running I can't say very much about the effectiveness and nothing about its durability, but if you buy this, I'd suggest going the PDF instructions.

This wifi extender works fairly well, it extends my wifi so it's actually usable out near my workshop about 100 ft from the house. Before I would only get 1 bar of wifi and practically no thruput but with this extender in place, I can use it for everything without having to turn off wifi and use my data connection.

It must have been the first one made on Monday morning.
It has all the potential to be a very good device except it completely drops out. It emits no signal at all from a few seconds to several minutes. My first email about the problem was answered very quickly but there has been no response to the second email describing the problem in more detail.

Works
I am using this product to extend my wi-fi signal out to my whole house generator, which is located about 50 feet from the house. I followed the directions to setup the repeater then I turned it off and moved it to the location I needed it. Once there I switched to AP mode, plugged a lan wire into the WAN port and into my wall port. I then turned the repeater on and waited. After the repeater booted (this took a while to reboot several times and connect) I checked the connection with my router and all is well. Anything connected to the repeater shows as connected via wire not wireless. It also works as a wireless repeater (middle setting), however due to the construction of my home I prefer to connect the repeater via a lan wire. Note: the IP of the device will change to match your network. I access the web portal via its new IP address. I have gone from 3% wi-fi signal at my generator to 53%. Time will tell if it is durable. It does emit a high-pitched whine when on but you have to be right next to it to hear it. You will need a smart phone or other wi-fi device to setup the repeater.-- Update, March 2020: Had a wicked storm that took out the repeater. It powers up but the only light that will stay lit is the power indicator. Tried the reset button but no joy. This worked fine up until it got zapped. I would purchase another one but it currently is unavailable.

Looks Aren't Deceiving
The Persevere AC1200 Wi-Fi extender is a mean looking piece of plug-in equipment to hang from your wall. But, it seems just as overwhelming with the relay of signals. Our modem is in the front of the house. With Pervered plugged in near the middle of first floor, we have internet coverage both to the rear of the house, second floor and even out on the patio. My suggestion to the manufacturer would be to simply instructions for installation. They made a mighty four page effort; however, the format, layout, illustrations and explanations are confusing. How about a straight forward step-by-step video on YouTube?
