Good fit, seem good quality, Very pleased.
These took a few days to arrive but it was worth the wait. I was half expecting them not to fit as I have quite wide feet (adult 6 - 61/2) & it can be difficult to find comfortable shoes, or slippers. But in fact they fit well (youth size 6) & are really comfortable., yet do not look wide. Ideal for wearing round the house and garden or on a walk locally. I’m immediately sending for another pair.Edit: Have bought 2nd pair. Promoting to 5 stars as they are so useful & cannot be faulted.

comfortable
I bought the plimsolls for my sons (ages 10 and 8); the sizes were accurate and the shoes were comfortable and appear to be durable especially compared to some i bought at M&S which didn't last at all. Delivery was timely and in good condition. Watching to see just how much beating the shoes will take.

I need and really like old fashioned Plimsolls ..
Also called Daps, and what I have received is what I was seeking - Plain, ordinary, normal plimsolls. Black on the outside and white on the inside, with no weird inner glued in, just the inner fabric itself flat over the sole. They smell exactly right and not too strongly, and the 'beige interlocking carrots' sole grip is one of my favourite types. The upper feels and looks a bit fake at first, as usual, but within a short time is sorting itself out and becoming more 'natural'. They are a basic shoe, and do not last forever, but from my experience with daps in the past, the old fashioned ones always manage to last longer than I expected them to. They do take a while to wear in and settle down and they are always a bit odd at first ( what new footwear isn't ) but as far as I am concerned they just get better with time. Note - There was a bit of a muddle with delivery styles and rates, but Shu Centre sorted it out without a fuss. Also Note : It is confusing as there are several store fronts and sellers that do these daps or supposedly do. I myself used Shu Centre, either directly or via Direct Schoolwear - My items were dispatched by them and they also answered my various questions. I cannot comment on other batches of these shoes, other sellers, storefronts or their products.

White version- poor quality/ black version- very good quality
I buy plimsolls quite often as I use them on my boat- salt water and canvas is a bad combination for longevity.I bought a pair in black and in white. The black pair is well made, comfortable and the size is about right. In fact, they're really quite good and I might use them off-boat too. The white pair are made much smaller, to a poorer quality, they are quite tight and I'm not really sure what species foot they are designed for, but I doubt it's a human- loose around the toe, tight around the rest of the foot.

Cheap what you get footwear
Good service from vendor. White plimsolls don't seem quite 'classic' plimsolls as a bit more pointed at the front (compare with black ones in attached pic) so thinking when really start to wear these (as indoor 'slippers) they might pinch my toes a bit. (Black pair planned to wear outside as a gardening shoe.)

I actually like a good chemical smell
I actually like a good chemical smell. Floor polish? Diesel? Dry marker pens? All curiously pleasant. These smell of half decayed industrial waste with a hint of the sulphurous fumes of Hades. I opened the package in the kitchen and suffered relational consequences as the toddler completely refused all food. I hung them on the railings outside the house to air. Strangely they haven't been stolen by a passer by. After two weeks of sun, wind and rain I can now walk past them without feeling faint. I fully expect to be able to take them to France in September. These are fabulous value, comfy and practical. This is my second pair having lost the first. Buy some.

DO NOT BUY THESE!
I bought these for my 4 year old to wear for PE at school due to the reviews, but they are truly awful. Having brought his PE kit home at halfterm I was shocked at how terrible these look. He has only worn them fewer than 10 times and the ‘tread’ on the shoes is actually just a piece of fabric stuck onto the bottom with some rubber lines. When used for even such a short time, the material rubs away meaning that there is no tread left on the shoe at all. Absolute rubbish! The seller’s first excuse to me was ‘they are cheap’. Yes they are, but they aren’t fit for purpose and my son could have hurt himself in these.Don’t buy them.
