Pretty solid and a good value
In a product category where prices can easily range from $20 to $2000, it only makes sense to consider the product for where it falls in that range (value) and whether it gets the job done. I've played with this reel for a while (I got the left hand, no line counter model) and I have a good sense of the feel and glitches. It is no where near the precision of the big quality brands. But for a second combo for a guest, or just to put out a second line sometimes, it seems fine. (I'll update this after fishing with it a few times, sharing initial impressions now.)One feature that isn't mentioned: When you turn the handle while it's in free spool mode, the lever will throw and take it out of free spool. I guess that's what makes it a baitcaster vs. just a conventional reel? But this is the feature that isn't always so smooth. I found that it sometimes locked the handle. Or depending on how I last cranked the handle, I couldn't easily throw the lever manually. I have a feeling I'll get used to it and avoid the problem in the future. The clicker is very loud but no issue with that, you can turn it off. But there seems to be a clicker that is pretty noticeable at all times. It feels and sounds like a clicker, not just a mechanical noise. I do not love that, would rather it be silent unless I have the clicker on.

Very smooth operating reel
I'll start with the only negative I found so far. The line didn't reel on evenly. In the picture you can see where it is higher on the left and as I reeled it on you could see it going further left than right. This may work itself out over time or may be adjustable. Otherwise, this reel is very nice. It reels very smoothly and the clicker is loud. The drag is easy to adjust and rather than just screwing in and out, it sort of clicks like it has detents. This helps you tighten or losen easier and quicker. The tension adjustment works well too. Love the color and feel. The enlarged handle end is nice. Also, the release operates great and even locks on its own when you reel in making it better for trolling or flat lining. Overall I'm very happy with this reel.

Smooth
This reel is smooth as silk. I love the fluid way it works. It is silent, which I also love. It looks beautiful but performs even better. If you are accustomed to this kind of reel, you will love it. If you are not, just do some research, practice, and enjoy. This would make the perfect gift for the angler in your life.

Seems to be a nice little reel
I got this as a gift for my neighbor kid across the street. He has been wanting to fishing with me, but doesn't have any equipment of his own. His birthday was last week, so I figured this would be a good time to get him his own gear (and to save my expensive gear from inexperienced hands). I checked it out before gifting it to him, and it looks like a decent little reel. Smooth action, nice anodizing, and it has a nice solid feel! The all metal construction was a nice surprise. Good drag, line winder, oversize handle, loud clicker etc. Overall, I think this will a great little reel for him.

Quality for the money
The media could not be loaded. I saw this was listed at 50 bucks and didn’t think much, but for 50 bucks on a heavy bait casting reel, I gave it a shot. Well worth it. Works as well as ones twice the price. The huge buying point for me is the construction. Solid metal! The drag is super audible and very crisp in the clicks. Every mechanism on the reel was very tactile and felt tight and quality made. Look no further for a good carp and catfish rig, to salt water fish.
