D-Link DWR-720 3G 21 Mbps HSPA+ Mobile Wireless Router

First electronic buy from amazon and got it delivered next day. Without paying extra. Price is cheaper in comparison with other shopping sites.Its a perfect pocket friendly router. Speed is good though depended on your data network. I am using with Aircel sim in Kolkata and the speed is upto 4.52mbps.Battery back up is sufficient for a full day usage. Plus you can give some charge to your phone also. Data cable,1ah charger and a very useful OTG Cable provided with the pack.Its a Sim only router which means you can insert any sim in it and share the 3g connection. you can not add a dongle and share the connection. Sd card slot is there but the storage you can not use via wifi. you can use it only when yore connected with the wire, Can add 5 devices. Little LCD can show you incoming SMS, network strength, battery and no of connected devices. WPS button is present as well.

While I write this review, it has been 6 days since I received the product. Yet, I am solving the mystery "Who's fault it is anyways?"I received the product and it looks really amazing, could not be anything better that I could have asked for. My troubles began as soon as I started using it.1. There were confusing instructions on 'How to reset your SSID and password?' in the reviews, which is recommended btw, all you need to do is, put a sim in it, go to the ip address using any device (Which is connected via the wifi through this device v.imp) and wallah, here you can set up new password and change ID as per instructions.2. It has a tendency to disconnect internet every now n then. When connected, you are the happiest person on planet, amazing speed, play games online, Wow!! That's what you always wanted. But when it stops working (which can be quite frequent), you will be disconnected every 2 mins literally and don't blame me if you feel like pulling your hair as I am warning you right now. For e.g. I am playing HayDay on my Apple ipod, I would start getting Server not connected error every 2 mins (actually less than 2 mins), and you can time it as well.3. Now you need to figure, is there a compatibility issue with Apple? as your phone(which is connected with it as well) shows 3G network and if you surf net on phone it is running fine.4. So I call Apple help desk the next day (this is post asking numerous questions to the existing buyers, none could provide exact reason). I get new settings from Apple support to resolve compatibility issues. Feels like everything is resolved finally.No IT IS NOT !!!!! The problem still persists5. Let's call D-Link support the next day (you see I just don't wanna give up until now), I am suppose to wait for 20 MINUTES on hold before I get connected to someone. I narrate my wonderful experience and once again, I am guided to change the settings, phew !!! Ray of hope??Yeah !!! It starts working fine, I am happy, no more disconnecting automatically.Only for few hours, the same problem started again and the device is disconnecting internet with Apple product. While I am getting disconnected from my ipod, I download a 5 MB song on my phone which gets downloaded within 30 secs. (but not always, at times the issue persists in phone too)Now I have started to wonder if the issue is with Airtel's 3G which is known to be the best in Delhi.Tomorrow I shall call D-link again and share the findings as I am advised to wait for 24 hours and share experience.In the meanwhile I have spoke to Amazon too and I have 3 more days pending to return the product.If you have been able to identify "Who's fault is it anyways?" Help me too and I may just get saved.BTW, I really love the product, only if it works as per my expectations!!

D-link is a very reputed brand in networking segment .I have a complete trust on their products .this product is a so so product actually .Pros :1)slim stylish design with display .2)default ip is 192.168.0.1 and user admin no password .Cool user interface and lot of setup option including changing wifi power .as well as range .3)can change wheather to use 2g only or 3g only or auto .4)with a 10 db wifi power the battery lasts for almost 6 hours which is good for me at this moment.5)Increasing the power of wifi anyone can use it upto 15 mit distance6)have b/g/n connectivitynow the cons :1)not made from good quality plastique2)on off and wps buttons are little small .3)if 3g signal is little low the the devices hangs a lot and have to restart every time .

Bad Product - I Feel this Product has a lot of problems starting with the connectivity issues as it fluctuates like Hell even after having a very good 3G speed . It keeps getting disconnected on its own in few minutes time interval.I also feel that those customers who found the device helpful is because they got a good working condition device whereas the rest of us got a faulty device. Dlink is not an ordinary company but this device Sucks.

The reaon i bought this is so that i can use it during my travels across the world by inserting local sim card with a data plan. Well.... it doesn't work. Totally useless for me. Connections too are quite slow.... the only good thing is the battery which is very good. Lasts an entire day.

The device is just like a compact mobile phone. The connection status, number of devices connected, the network being used, battery info, signal and other things are displayed on the tiny screen pretty well.I'm using this product with my BSNL sim card. During the first few days I had great trouble in adjusting with it and setting it up. The internet settings are applied automatically when the sim card is inserted. Quite often the device switches to 3G and then back Edge network. So the connection drops every now and then. I think it is the problem with the BSNL network and not with this device since I'm facing the same issue on my phone.So in settings page I have kept the Network mode to '3G only', instead of '2G/3G'. Now I'm not facing any issues when I stick to just one network mode. The device is working pretty fine and the battery backup is just awesome when comparing with other models. I should say that this is a must for the Tablet/iPad owners who doesn't have 3G onboard.I would give 5 stars for this device

Works ok but cannot log into the device to change settings though ( via usb cable or browser).

És muy facil de configurar y funcionaa correctamente y una vez conectado puedes utilizar internet a buena velocidad ' siempre a la que te dé tu conexión según proveedor 3g." no obstante en una zona rural de poca cobertura me ha funcionado perfectamente 'creo' que dando algo más de cobertura y pudiendo navegar con normalidad. Admáes de bateria gasta poco, por este motivo soy partidario de usar estos dispoisitivos en vez de crear un punto de acceso wifi con el movil,

avevo bisogno di un dispositivo portatile non brandizzato che funzionasse con una usim della tre e che mi permettesse di utilizzare su smartphone e portatile il wifi visto che dove sono io a reti fisse siamo ancora al filo saponato. sono rimasto molto contento dell'acquisto perchè questo dispositivo ha un'ottima ricezione e ha suerato brillantemente tutti gli speed test che ho lanciato da pc. da non sottovalutare la possibilità di utilizzare il dispositivo sia come modem usb sia come hotspot a se stante. il vantaggio è che quando viene collegato tramite usb si ricarica anche la batteria. lo porto sempre con me e ovunque ci sia disponibilità di rete Tre mi collego agevolmente. l'uso è semplicissimo e non richiede dei cervelloni: si accende e si naviga. quando si collega al pc tramite usb inoltre si può utilizzare i programma della D-Link che funge da interfaccia per i settaggi più o meno avanzati (password impostazioni di rete ecc). supporta fino a 6 dispositivi collegati wifi contemporaneamente. suggerisco l'uso di password per accedere alla rete altrimenti vi si collegherà l'universo. molto veloce è anche il riconoscimento e collegamento da parte degli smartphone alla rete: io ho un samsung galaxy S2 e la mia ragazza un LG L5-2 ed entrambi i telefoni impiegano 3-4 secondi per identificare la rete wifi ed accedervi. Ho successivamente acquistato un altro di questi hotspot per la mia ragazza che lo usa molto spesso quando si sposta e siamo tutti e due molto soddisfatti. il prezzo non è basso ma lo consiglio comunque su tutte le scelte a meno. ho provato alcuni degli hotspot più economici ma sono a volte dei ripieghi (es. funzionano solo a se stanti e non anche collegati tramite usb).tempi di consegna lampo come è d'uso ad amazon.

Ursprünglich gekauft, um im Ausland (+ entsprechender SIM) mobil zu sein.Hat auch gut funktioniert - hier und da mal Empfangsabbrüche - und die Einrichtung/Verwaltung des Geräts war einfach.
