Dr. Martens Unisex-Adult 1461 Shoes, 0 Women/0 Men

So I just took delivery of my new Dr Martens 1461z's. These are the ones with the yellow trademark stitching around the sole. Rather than tell you how good they are, I'll tell you how good the pair that I'm replacing have been. I'm hard on shoes. A decent pair from a normal shoe shop will be lucky to last me four months before they either crack across the sole or the leather splits, or becomes so marked that even a polish won't hide how badly I've treated them. My current pair of DM's has lasted me 3 years of wearing to work, 5 days a week in all weathers, rain, hail, blistering sunshine and deep snow. I've never once troubled myself about slipping over, soaking my socks, or finishing the day with stinky feet. They just take the abuse and keep going. Somewhere in the middle of all that, I had a job interview, so they got a DM polish and buff up and looked like new. (ps, I got the job). If you want a decent pair of shoes that will last you, look good and serve your feet well, these are the beauties to have. Sure, they're not the cheapest but false economy of cheap shoes just doesn't work for me, and probably not you either. They get two thumbs up from me every time.Dr. Martens Mens 1461

What a great pair of shoes. I love 'em! Firstly, I read all the reviews and knew that these were not made in the UK, nor have they been since 2003, and can say that they are well made in Thailand...very well made actually. They are a quite substantial pair of shoes that are going to take a bit of time to break in as the leather is quite thick and stiff. With the proper care, these babies should last a long time. There was a hiccup with the delivery on my end, a local courier which was not amazon's fault, that delayed delivery. These shoes fit well, sizing is accurate, are comfortable and will get more so with wear and absolutely look the part. Secondly, I liked them so much, a week later I got a pair of DMC 8053 gaucho crazy horse. "Buy a pair, you can't go wrong".

I don't have a car and so tend to walk a lot. Unfortunately, most "smart" shoes (i.e. standard black, office type shoes) available on the high street seem to be designed with only the short walk between your front door and your car at one end, and the car park and your desk at the other and fall apart if you actually try to walk any substantial distance in them.These are both comfortable and hard-wearing (although when brand new they had a very sharp bit of leather poking up at the heel which was very painful for a few days before they wore in).The quality of Dr Martens does seem to be very variable these days. This pair are very good. I bought a pair (slightly different design) a couple of years ago which while usable, were much less durable.

I received a Cherry Red pair in February for my birthday, purchased from Amazon, size 11, fit great and I was very pleased. Thought I would treat myself to a black pair, so ordered them from Amazon, they was extreamy tight, but thought maybe its me, they need breaking in etc. then looked at the tab, black ones made in Taiwan and red Vietnam if I remember rightly. any way long story short! I think the black ones was a 10 banged as an 11, but they are made slightly different, I would think they should be made to the same template etc. anyway Amazon gave me a refund , so nothing lost.

Great sturdy shoes. Ideal if you're on your feet all day. Comfy and didn't rub. Also great value for money and a lot cheaper than other sites.

I have bought DM's before for work (as a chef) and having been supplied with a load of tat from current employer, decided to buy myself another pair for the sake of my feet. I am glad to say that nothing has changed since last time I bought a pair. Reassuringly uncomfortable the first time you put them on, then as they get easier to wear, you realise that is is money well spent as they seem to just shape themselves to your feet. The only issue I have with them is that the laces keep coming lose. But you know what - wouldn't swap them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too tight on toe (left foot). Ordered a cherry coloured pair at same time, and in same size. They fitted. Have bought 3 pairs in black in past. two fitted (they always take some 'breaking in' but one of the previous three was stitched too tight across the instep. After some weeks of endurance i razored the stitching and the fit was fine.thereafter..

Out of curiosity, I decided to click on the '1 used' option and found that Amazon Warehouse was selling 1 pair for £25. It seems they were a returned item but the pair I received were boxed, labelled and in pristine condition. I couldn't believe my luck. I would have returned them if they looked in any way used but these are brand new. I would consider this option again, particularly with the 30 day return policy.The Docs are very comfortable, smart and I think they are fab.
