Two trekking poles up!
Compared to my Deuter raincover it's not as thin but pretty close. It compresses into a little pouch that's supplied. The L size recommended fits my 70L pack with enough slack for overload.Rating Breakdown:Material - goodBuild - goodColor (blue) - goodSize - goodPrice - good

Perfect. Just what i needed when it started raining my 38 mile back packing trip. Without the waterproof phone bag i wouldn't have video of me crossing a waist high river or have a phone anymore. My 'only problem was I had a 50 liter bag and the water proof sleeve was of 44to like 54 liters but this was a bit small so bad on my part.

Inexpensive and works pretty well
Took this on a 40 mile AT hike. It rained about 24 hours straight on the second day so this got put to the test. My stuff stayed pretty dry. The only reason I think it got a little damp was because when we stopped and opened them up to get water, food, or whatever out of the packs, the rain would get in them. Then we would put the covers back on and trap the water in. Oh well. Not this products fault.I got the 70L size and it fit my pack fine. And i think my pack is a 90L pack so it might work for like one size up. Depending on what you have in the pack I guess. It fit over my water bottle pockets on each side with no problem, over the brain, then down over the sleeping bag trap door.Mine was a royal blue which looks kinda cheap out on the trail when everyone has their name brand covers but whatever, if you care about that stuff. It packs back up in its carrying bag pretty easy too.

Left my backpack outside in the rain all night and this cover kept it dry
Went hiking in the Adirondacks and got one of these just in case. Ended up using it every night on the trail to protect the backpack against dew, because we just left our backpacks outside the tent, hanging from a strap looped around a tree trunk. We did have some heavy rain throughout on one of the nights, and the cover kept my backpack perfectly dry. Well worth the purchase.

Worked fine
I used the cover while on the Appalachian Trail during heavy rain, thick clouds and just wet conditions. It worked fine, the majority of my pack stayed dry. Always pack your gear in contractor bags, regardless. This cover allowed the majority of my pack to stay dry, water adds so much weight to your pack. For the cost, cant beat it, i had no issues with it. The only parts of my pack that were wet was obviously the shoulder straps, hip belt and the edge of the pack that meets your back.

OK, but not great fit
I was hopeful that this cover would be the perfect rain coat for my small-to medium-sized backpack. It did fit OK, but the elastic cinching at the top was impeded by the shoulder straps. As such, after walking a bit, normal movements were enough for it to come off at the top — pretty frustrating. Ultimately worked with a little tape, but come on!!

Average backpack cover.
This is an alright backpack cover. I took it on a trip in the smokies the other day. I only gave it 4 stars because there is room for improvement, It could have been a little bigger to as it hardly fits around my REI Mars 80 backpack, but it does cover most of the bag. It would also be nice if you could tighten it around the backpack. The cell phone waterproof case is a nice extra.
