HP 15-BS013DX - 15.6" HD Touch - i3-7100U - 8GB - 1TB HDD - Black

Although this laptop has not passed the test of time, I will comment on my experience so far after one day in use.Release date: 11/2017--HP 15-bs013dx - i3-7100U CPU - 2.40 GHzPurchase date: 1/2019Setup: Easy--I have some experience after seven (2 desk + 5 HP laptops); however, I am not a technician and have many limitations as to how much I know (?) and what I can do on my own. The internet forums answer most of my questions.--Windows & HP Updates: Fast and simple (Updates take longer with older new/old stock units)--Startup time after all updates, etc. less than one minute from start to password command.--Touchscreen-- I am used to it and I love it. Works great!--KEYBOARD - I have smoother touch in higher-priced laptops but this one is just smooth-fine.--BATTERY LIFE - Since the unit was connected to the AC during the setup, I have not tested battery duration; however, it became fully charged during the setup. Based on other reviews, battery life may average 5 hours.--Windows Ink Workspace/Pen and Windows Ink-- Will buy the pen although it is not required (during setup, HP had several suggestions). I right-clicked on a clean space on the toolbar and selected to have the ink icon feature on/off since there was none.--Bluetooth - Icon is on (BT is discoverable)--DVD RW DRIVE - When I first pressed the button nothing happened. I released it and pressed again. This time the slim drawer opened (Handle with care as with all slim laptops). I inserted a DVD and nothing happened so I opened MY PC, right-clicked on the DVD drive to get the instructions to play the selected media as shown or a download of my own. I selected the first choice and it worked perfectly.--WEIGHT and BUILD - 4.5# - Sturdy plastic with thin build. As with my other laptops, I will make sure it does not drop to the floor.--OVERALL SPEED excluding gaming plus GENERAL PERFORMANCE- I have had multiple tabs opened at the same time and had no problems with the speed. For the retail price of this laptop I could not ask for more. In fact, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
