These simulate the odor of a human being and attract more mosquitoes.It will never trap and kill 100% of the mosquitoes, but it will reduce their population over time.These are made for indoor use, but I have one on the front porch and one on the back porch protected from rain, so they work all night long to catch mosquitoes before they get into the house.Note to vendor: Suggest these Octenol cartridges along with your traps to increase effectiveness X4.

This product does a terrific job at repelling (or killing) gnats and no-see-ums. My Florida house is built on a former swamp, and there is a huge problem with those bugs. Before I installed this lamp, it was impossible to open my front door without walking into a swarm of them. In addition to flying into my face, they would also fly into my house. Ever since I placed this lamp on my entryway, the bug problem stopped.If you have a similar problem, position the lamp so it is on the hinge side of the entry door, so the bugs are attracted away from the door's opening section.April 2018 update: This zapper does a great job, but the bulb is not replaceable. The bulb on my zapper died after only a few months of use, maybe because of exposure to rain. I am now looking for another zapper, preferably one with a replaceable bulb.

After a rainy month here in Texas, for the first time I had a problem with mosquitoes in my apartment. They would fly in any time I opened the door, and then I couldn't catch or kill them all. I mentioned it to a friend, and she said she had good results with this mosquito trap.I had my doubts, especially when I received it - it's nothing more than some blue/UV LEDs, above a cleverly constructed fan and. funnel. But it works! The mosquitoes are drawn to the light, and then pulled through the fan into a trap. After one night of operation, I had already caught all the mosquitoes in my place.The fan is quiet, just barely audible. In order to work, this trap needs to be in a dark room (ideally without people) so that it is the most attractive thing in the room for the mosquitoes to come to.It's intended for indoor use; I'm pretty sure it would be clogged with moths and june bugs, etc. if it was set up outdoors. Note that it will not work in a well-lit area; it needs to be the sole source of light (or nearly so) in order for the mosquitoes to be drawn to it reliably.I'm very happy with this purchase! Recommended.

The reason I bought this product is to get rid of too much mosquitoes in my house. I didn’t want to use any chemicals in our house because we have little kids. So I started looking for alternative methods of getting rid of mosquitoes, I read on a forum that zappers worked for some people and decided to give it a try. I hung the unit in my bedroom in the hopes that it would offer the best protection. The unit does make a zapping noise, but it’s nothing alarming. It just zaps and then moves on with its work. The unit is pretty quite even on strong mode. It sounds like a small fan so makes good white noise and the light isn’t overprowering. So it will not affect our sleep.

Little bug catcher that actually works. This is not a "zapper" type killer. It is more like a trap. The soft glow light is not hard on the eyes. It is quiet as described. I first used this indoors and it actually caught a few moths that I didn't know were there. I then placed it out on my covered porch. It did much better out there where in one night the storage tray was approx. 1/4 filled with assorted flying bugs. There were about 100 total in 1 night.This also runs off a USB style adapter which is included and the day/night and manual switch worked as described. Strong plastic construction.I have a 50 watt solar setup at my house and I have found that I can run this off the USB output of the solar controller (5 volt pins) so basically I can run this low power device without ANY household current! I paid more than the current price today but it was worth it.

I purchased this to take along with us in our RV when we go camping. Between the kids and dog going in and out constantly, mosquitoes get inside and attack us throughout the night while we sleep. I set this lamp up on the counter near where the kids sleep and it worked great. It did not completely get rid of all the bugs but it significantly cut down on the number of mosquito bites. The lamp was not so bright that it would bother the kids and it is pretty quiet. Love that we don't have to sit around and hear that annoying zapping noise of those big, electric noisy ones. Clean up is a breeze. Simply unscrew that catch container and empty it out. My only suggestion to make this an even better product, is to make it so it has rechargeable batteries or solar. That way if there is no access to electricity (for example, tent camping out in the wilderness) there is an alternative source for power.

Works great! I let it run 24/7. At night, I turn off all lights so the only light on is the trap. We live in North Texas countryside and have twin 2 year olds that leave the door open letting in 20+ mosquitoes a day. With just the one trap, I’d say we catch 90% of the mosquitoes. I’d recommend 1 per large room if you have the same problem I do. Attached photo is a typical 24 hour catch.

No more bugs in the house. Since the weather is getting nicer, we let our pets go in and out of our backyard. Also some bugs decided to join. Finally found a product cured my headache!!
