Great looking, 5 quart capacity, wonderfully heavy cast iron utilitarian dutch oven with domed lidCast iron has become the go-to material for cooking vessels. It heats evenly and also retains that heat making it perfect for oven-to-table use.This is a very versatile cooking vessel, 7 inches in diameter with a marvelous domed lid -ideal for baking bread, surrounding it with even heat. We made a loaf of sourdough- is anything better than bread fresh from the oven and slathered with butter !? Yum.It has handles for easy lifting albeit it is quite heavy but that is common to all cast iron cookware.The lid with stainless handle seals nicely which promotes self basting when cooking roasts or chicken.A few drawbacks- not dishwasher safe although easy to clean since it is non-stick and non scratch utensils are pretty much required.A very welcome addition to our cooking arsenal.

I got this Dutch oven to try a few different recipes. After washing the unit out and drying it off I added some olive oil to the pan and heated it on my electric stove at a medium heat. I went on to to prep my beef for searing while the oil warmed up. Looking at the pan, I noticed the burnt area where oil got extremely hotter than the rest of the pan. There is nothing wrong with my electric heating element so I am not sure why this part of the pan heats so much more unevenly than the rest.I stopped there and washed out the pan again. This area now seems to have a permanent mark in that area but there is nothing on the non stick coating that I can remove, its just an odd blemish that seems to have uneven heating in this area. I assume it is just an issue in the metal or manufacturing process.I was able to finish searing my meat and fishing my meal. All the heating around the sides were perfect but the discolored area seems way too hot and burned a few vegetables.The lower half is not very deep, it works but could have been a bit deeper. As it is, its similar to small frying pan in depth but the cover is very tall and gives plenty of room to keep humidity in while it bakes.So far I have not had much success, I assume the bad area of the pan I got is giving me inconsistent results.I don't recommend this unit but only because of the odd pan I got.

Well made high quality material. It has a nice weight which makes its durability very evident. The white enamel is beautiful and flawless. A nice size for a small chicken or a loaf of bread.

This is thesecond dutch oven i have and I love it. It was easy to use and surprisingly very easy to clean! You have to season the edges then ready to use! The price was so cheap. I definitely think this is a quality product compared to a lot of the more expensive cast-iron cookware. My favorite feature is that you can use it on the oven and IN the oven.

I have wanted one of these for a long time. This one is reasonably priced and has all the features of more expensive bread bakers. Cast iron holds the heat really well. Having a lid means the steam stays in the container to make a really good crusty artisan bread. This is the perfect size for a loaf of sourdough or other types of bread. Comes in awesome colors. Excellent investment or gift for the bread baker.
