Another wonderful story from the ever imaginative mind of Ms. Donna Grant
Originally Reviewed For: Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales and FantasyIn Book two of her Rogues of Scotland Series, Donna Grant shares Morcant's Story with us..The Rogues, "Four Highlanders whose bond of brotherhood finds each of them cursed. It'll take special women willing to break the curse - and bet on love."The Rogues are four men connected by bonds of friendship so deep they consider each other brothers. But when they are cursed into utter blackness, destined to remain in darkness until they redeemed themselves.. Hard to do when bound by darkness..Four men, best friends, cursed at what seems like the whim of a gypsy. Their choices, their very friendship led them each to the same place in time, a place where destinies collide. One night of passion that was all Morcant wanted. He wasn't the type to commit to any woman. A quick tumble, a roll in the hay, an evening of pleasure. He had no desire for more..When Morcant joined his friends at the Gypsy encampment, he was looking for a little fun. A night of pleasure that's what Ronan (The Craving) promised when he led them to the gypsy encampment. Some fun, some passion then back home to where they belonged. But life is never quite what we expect and Morcant was instantly attracted to a woman who stood apart. A woman with a destiny, claiming that if she remained pure she would have united the gypsies.. But she hadn't so she was shunned.. Morcant figured what the heck? Only to discover too late that she lied. And for this lie, Morcant was doomed to the darkness, until he could be redeemed.Leana is a creature of the forest, happier away from people. She gathers her herbs and works her healing but remains aloof from her village. An outsider. A woman who understands that she is meant to be alone. Everyone leaves. Only one day while gathering her plants, she has a vision of a man in the darkness. Then he's there.. confused but willing to help him on his way, on his quest. Leana has no clue that he is about to change her life.I am totally enjoying this series. Each book has a great story that is tailored to our hero. What can a man do to redeem himself? How can he do it trapped in darkness? And can he be redeemed by himself. In this case Morcant wanted to find his friends but discovered that he had to choose between his friends and his heart. Duty or Love? A difficult choice for a man like Morcant.Leana on the other hand had to trust in a man that promised to stay.. Is that even possible? Can she believe in him? Never realizing that her faith in him is what will lead him to redeem himself.A circle of faith Leana must trust Morcant so Morcant can believe in her... and finding his friends?? Well is that even possible? It has been 200 years since they were cursed.Another wonderful story from the ever imaginative mind of Ms. Donna GrantShauni

These first 2 have been super good, fun reads
I am so ready to read #3 of this series. Got to see what Stefan or Daman come up with and how they ------- Oops think I leave that blank for now. These first 2 have been super good, fun reads. Imagine 4 guys, closer then most brothers, go out for a night of loving and pleasuring the women (in a gypsy camp no less, didn't say they were a super intelligent bunch, thinking with the wrong equipment again?, oh dear) & they end up in a world of hurt. Dam! How would you feel thrown almost 200 years into the future? But then these are highland warriors. When the guy finally gets let out of his dark prison it's a good thing that kilts are still the fashion of the day cuz that's all he's got to wear. Thank the powers that be it stayed clean (pretty much) thru his years of captivity. Please don't get me wrong I love these novellas. I liked the characters, the storylines and the dialogue. "The Hunger" is only 106 pages and Donna did an excellent job of filling all those pages and getting her story told. There are times I truly enjoy something lite and quick. I didn't want "Paradise Lost"! Heading over to check if #3 is ready for pre-order yet. Talk later ~P~P.S. What kinda of photo are ya looking for? That grey button down there is a new addition folks.

For Anyone who loves Highlanders
What an amazing story! Donna Grant has brought us the second Rogue of Scotland of her new series, we met the Highlander Morcant in the first installment, where he and his three friends go to the gypsy camp and what they thought was going to be a night of fun turn into their punishment, cursed in a place of pure darkness Morcant is tortured with the unknown whereaboutS of his friends, and the unending need for pleasure. Morcant has to redeem himself and find his friends, Morcant also finds himself torn between his wants and his need when the lovely Leana locates him some centuries after the gypsy cursed him. What started out trying to regain his sword back turns into something Morcant simply can't walk away from.Leana lives a life of a recluse for fear of another person leaving her, but can she keep her heart closed to the alluring highlander she found in the forest, one she saw in the darkness, or will he be her undoing and show her he isn't going anywhere. This story was just the right fix for my historical highlander craving, Donna Grant knows how to keep us intrigued and wanting more. I have added this series to my favorites books to read more then once, and I can't wait for the 3rd installment to the Rogues of Scotland.

Good little read
Going straight from one book to the other and the way the way this book and the first one starts, I figured that the prologue would be in each book but in a different point of view. I was right about that and was hoping that it wouldn't be like another book that I had read where it was repetitive. to my delight it wasn't.I did rather enjoy reading this book, even if it did take me only two hours, it is a shame that the story is so short and I expect that the other two that follow will be also. But was still a good little read.

okay, but Very trite
Leana is a healer shunned by many of the villagers. Why is never adequately explained. Mercant was cursed 200 years prior for sexual misconduct that always left him searching for something but not understanding what. He wins his freedom though neither Leana nor Mercant know how, but he can't satisfy his hunger, nor leave to find his friends but neither can he understand the magnetism that won't let him leave. It's a trite story that depends on sex to keep readers interested. I hope the next book in the series is a big improvement. I'll probably read it because I hate to quit a series in the middle, but sadly my expectations for it, based on the previous two books, are very low.
