CrystalClear Sparkle Fountain & Water Feature Cleaner - 8 Ounces Treats Up to 80 Gallons

A few years ago I set up a birdbath with fountain and I have so enjoyed watching the birds. Unfortunately it is under a tree and gets various organic things dropped in it. I've tried washing it out, changing the water regularly, and various products for managing the green slime that seems to inevitably come. The last product I tried was Sanco and like the others it didn't do anything. I thought it was impossible to manage. Out of desperation I tried one more. Many people had recommended this product (but they had recommended Sanco too). But I tried it. I'm telling you… It worked like a charm. And I didn't have to clean everything out before I used it. It killed what was there and is preventing future growth. And for my birdbath, only a very small amount keeps it in great shape. I can continue to add water as the levels get low and I only add a little bit of the product maybe once a week. I can't tell you how impressed I am. The birds seem happy too.

Works pretty well. Our temperatures here in Mesa, AZ are just to high for this product to keep it clean. It works best in mild temperatures not hot ones like we have.

Our fountain loses a few gallons per day due to wind and evaporation. Adding a partial capful of CrystalClear Sparkle at each bi-weeky refill has kept the water crystal clear all summer. Before using CrystalClear, I drained the fountain, scrubbed the concrete and removed all the existing sludge, just as I had done before trying other solutions. Recommendations by the installer included everything from chlorine bleach to some fish pond clearer. Nothing worked. I could not keep the sludge out of our fountain for a week.Update July 2017: We tried another product as this one is 'pricy'. However the other product did not control algae at all. We drained the fountain, refilled, added recommended Sparkle. Water has remained crystal clear AND the weird orangish film on the spouts has disappeared. This product is a 'steal' as it is the only one that worked for us.Fountain location information: Full sun on Oregon coast.

I have used this product in my fountain for years - I add it once a week and it keeps the water clear. A lot of birds drink from the fountain along with the occasional visiting dog so I especially like the fact that it is safe for them to do so. I just restarted my fountain a week ago, it had not been properly covered so the water was not clear at first - it is now. I recommend this product.

Worked pretty good for 2 months, but it leaves heavy white stains on exterior parts. After 3 mos of refilling and adding half of the serving cup every 7days, algae has formed turning water green.

Have seen a few negative reviews and was little cautious. Got my first bottle and poured in the recommended amount into my green water. Not much happened. So I cleaned the fountain thoroughly and them added the capful. My fountain is gorgeous. No, I do not have to clean each time but to start I did. I believe this product keeps the h2o clean but when added to heavy algae it is not strong enough. I will never beWithout this product. Try again you will beSurprised.

I used this product once in my fountain which had green slime. I checked it the next day and the water was completely clear and the green slime gone. I would buy this product again. Thank you.

have a pond in back yard with a waterfall.......water was ok but never crystal clear and it tended to get frothybut with the use of Sparkel it cleared up in 12 hours and stays that way for several weeks..........SUPER product
