Lemon Verbena ‘aloysia citriodora’ use dates back to the Victorian era when ladies used sprigs of leaves and leaves themselves as a perfume of sorts. It is a native of western South America. Culinary uses include a flavoring in tea and desserts, especially sorbet. It pairs well with fish and poultry. And has been added to marinades, salad dressings and Greek yogurt It is prized for its lemon fragrance in potpourri and sachets. Since it is hardy only to Zone 8, usually it is treated as a tender annual. It grows well in pots and can be wintered over inside with plenty of light and warm temperatures. If neither is available it will drop it leaves and appear dead. Once the days become longer, the leaves will reappear and it will begin growing once again. Lemon Verbena grows into a shrub 3-4 feet in cooler regions and 6 to 9 feet in warmer regions. It needs some pruning to keep it looking tidy. The petite flowers are pale pink to white. Healthy plant!
This plant was larger than expected, and very healthy! It came well packaged with good directions to water immediately and keep in the shade for a couple of days so it doesn't get shocked. I wish I had ordered two.I haven't been able to keep one over the winter and I am going to try leaving it outside in zone 6 with a thick layer of mulch to see whether it will leaf out in the spring. I've been able to grow French tarragon as a perennial with this method in a protected area. (Wish me luck!) If this method doesn't work I will definitely order from this company again next year.I love the scent of lemon verbena and steeping a leaf or two in hot water is delicious and calming to drink as a tea. Crushing a leaf into iced tea the way you would do with a mint sprig is also nice. The intense lemon flavor is good in cooking - you want to put it in a tea ball or cheesecloth and remove it before eating, because the leaves are rather thick and not a nice texture to chew on.

Shakes start
Due to shipping a live plant the two verbena plants I received were very shook up in their containers. Dirt was everywhere. Once I gently cleaned off the dirt and planted them they have been thriving. Growing straight up hoping they will fill in a little to be become a little stronger.

Very smalle plant, but is doing well a month later.
I wish this plant was better established especially for the cost... arrived packaged well, got off to a rocky start where I thought it might not survive but it is now doing well a month later.

Could not be happier with purchase.
Plant could not have arrived healthier and in such supreme condition. Thank you for how it was packaged and a beautiful plant. I will definitely order from you next year. Thank you so much.

Too Young
I think they sent my plant too young. Within a few days it started losing its leaves, and now the stem is dead. It was much smaller than some pictures people posted, I think it was just too young to survive the trip.

Looks amazing!
First off, the plant looks great. They packed it very well when they sent it. It's about 6 inches tall and smells great. Wish I could give more stars because of how impressed I was.
