Gold mask but not as gorgeous as promised
A beautiful looking product packaged nicely in a see through pot with a very secure lid that keeps the contents in place.Containing gold and other scientific ingredients that are all claiming to reduce wrinkles , hydrate and make the skin smooth and glowing. But all at a price and over £50 for this quantity is a bit steep !It is thick to apply and the instructions - which are in a very small font and not easy to decipher - advise to apply for 5 minutes , rest and relax then remove using water or a sponge.I found it was easy to apply it looks like a dark suntan or resembles the skin of actress Shirley Eaton in Goldfinger ! But it’s more difficult to remove as it appears thick and sticky on the skin and I needed to use a wet facecloth to remove it fully. My skin did feel soft but I can’t say the best moisturised ever and not really as luminous as promised . I think for the price some own brand moisturising and luminisibg masks or gels are just as good or better ! It was nice to have the opportunity to try it but it’s not something I can justify buying for myself at that cost!

No Midas touch...
This Rexaline X-Treme Gold Radiance cream really should come in a musical box that plays the theme from Goldfinger when you open it. In part because your fingers will be gold (tipped) by the time you finish applying it and partly because it leaves your face looking like that unfortunate woman who was suffocated with gold body paint in that particular James Bond movie. Of course all that glitters is not gold and although this cream looks like it's packed with 24kt gold it's actually ground Mica, Tourmaline and Pearl powder that gives it the sparkle and colour. Gold is on the list of ingredients but it's almost the last one in a long list and therefore probably only present in tiny quantities. Even if it's a significant ingredient there's no real proof it does anything when applied to your skin and the claims that exist usually apply to Colloidal Gold and that doesn't seem to be what's in this preparation. There are plenty of known skincare ingredients in this cream and the likelihood is that any improvement you see is due to them and not the presence of tiny traces of Gold.As a face mask it's pleasant and cooling to use and gives a refreshing feeling on your skin. The directions suggest applying a thick layer onto your face and neck which should be left for 15 minutes before being rinsed away. The mask does dry into the skin leaving a sparkly coating but it's relatively easy to rinse away but some of the light reflecting particles will remain unless you use a proper cleanser. You might need a magnifying glass to read the instructions and it might come in handy to check for any difference in your skin after treatment. It's very pleasant to use although it's quite highly scented, the Goldfinger look is fun, and afterwards your skin does feel like it's had a boost. However I don't feel it does anything a traditional face mask doesn't do and probably at a fraction of this price. In this case including Gold in a skin mask seems more of a gimmick than anything and it's hard to justify the high price for an unproven, but fashionable, ingredient.

Still waiting to see results in wrinkle reduction, although this mask does soften and brighten.
This regenerating face mask is one of a range of products 'X-Treme' from Rexaline it is an anti-ageing, regenerating and repairing mask which aims to reduce wrinkles (by 30%), improve vitality (by 90%), luminosity (by 90%) and increase hydration (by 83%)…very big claims indeed. The face mask comes securely packed inside a cardboard box inside which is a 50ml translucent acrylic pot with a gold coloured screw on lid.To use this cream mask you need to remove the inner white plastic lid which is there to prevent cream getting onto the underside of the lid. This cream mask is a lovely thick sparkly gold coloured cream which has a pleasant scent. It contains amongst other ingredients pure 24k gold, pearl powder, DWK complex (whatever that is), encapsulated lipopeptide (??), tourmaline powder, macadamia oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, rye extract and mulberry extract.Recommended use is two or three times weekly. Using a thick layer of the cream smooth the cream into your face, neck and décolleté area and wait for it to work its miracle (for between 10 to 20 minutes). Afterwards rinse off any excess.I have been using this gold mask for the last two weeks twice weekly (it's too expensive to use three times every week) and so far I am yet to see any noticeable changes to any wrinkles, however my skin does feel softer and looks a little brighter. I have had no unfavourable reactions from any of the ingredients so I will keep on using this mask until my pot is empty. Will I invest in more? That very much depends on whether I see any of the improvements that I mentioned above. Failing that this face mask is much too expensive to use for brightening and softening the skin, something that other masks do at half the price or less.
