Expedition Foods Scrambled Egg with Cheese & Caramelised Onion (450kcal) - Freeze Dried Meal

Tried it today while hiking and before I tried the carbonara by the same brand and it was pretty good. But the scrambled eggs are not. The eggs tasted like sponge, none in my family liked them. I think the brand is good, it's just that this dish is far away from success.

Can take a little bit of stirring to make sure that the bigger bits of egg are saturated and the caramelized onions can be a little bit sweet first thing in the morning but all in all all tasty and very edible

Hard to tell this is dehydrated food. Instructions are spot on and it tastes great

I bought these for an easy meal on the go when I am out hiking. Having never tried them I thought I would make one at home first, I am really glad I did!The scrambled egg packaging states to add 155ml of hor water, and zi added 160ml as that was the nearest marking on my jug (I wanted to make sure indid it right!).I waited, food smelt nice. After 8mins I had another look, half of the stuff is still really hard and there is a load of water not absorbing. I tried stirring it around more and sealed it back up again. waited 5 more minutes, food was still warm after more than double the recommended time but half was still hard and there was still too much water. I managed to pour off the excess and plated it up. Didn't look too appealing but I was less concerned with that than the fact that a fair amount was still solid!Honestly, this is just disappointing. So expensive and a total let down. Better buying plain dehydrated eggs and cooking it up in a pan. or using real eggs than these. Shame.

I liked the taste, it was delicious.It was very tasty.

I had their spaghetti bolognese for dinner it was alright,, however this scrambled egg dish was grotesque! I threw it in the bushes for the animals after one spoonful, I doubt they will even eat it, eggs like sponge and tasteless to boot,and the rest of it has this yucky onion taste that’s well too strong, all in all this is a really bad camp meal I wouldn’t touch it again and will do my best to ward others from its existence! Foul!

Real good taste. Ready to eat quickly. Taking it on my next trip out.
