A Worthy Tire
I ride a 2007 Honda VT1100, bought brand new in the box in 2008. The factory Bridgestones died after 6200 miles. Actually the cord was showing on the back tire, a little, I hadn't caught it because the Michelin's I ran on my Goldwing routinely gave me 9500 miles so I was caught short, surprised, by the abysmal tire life on this light a bike. I crossed the Bridgestone brand of tires off my list of replacement tires. I checked the VT forums and settled on a Shinko rear tire to try out as a sleeper, a cheaper than brand name and better tire. I ordered my first one in 2009. I just ordered my third one today. The first one ran me about 10,000 miles, I ran it until the tread was gone in the center, still had good rubber but was slick. I replaced it at 16,800 miles with the current tire, I just turned over 25,004 miles and the rear tire still has tread left in the center. I ride to and from work, about 28 miles a day. I'm getting 10,000 miles out of these "cheap" tires. I'll replace my current tire when it gets too cold to ride this winter, it will have over 10, 000 miles on it. The grip is excellent, it's a quiet tire and has excellent adhesion when the road's wet. The rear has never slipped except on sand or an asphalt "snake". My front tire is a Shinko too and it's only about half worn out, I put it on at about 12,000 miles, I replaced the original Bridgestone with it. I'll replace it this winter too just due to it's age, not because the tread's gone.Anyone who says that these tires wear out too fast needs a reality check. Granted my bike only weighs 560 lbs. dry and I only have 60 hp and 70 ft/lbs of torque so I don't turn my rear tire over when I "get on it". If you wear out your rear tire quicker, quit laying rubber. I don't know of ANY other tire that will give this level of performance and tire life, especially for the tire price. A harder tire might give me 12,000 or 12,500 miles, but it won't stick as well in the rain. And yes, it's a radial tire and my bike was designed for bias ply, but if you check the forums these tires work really well on a VT1100 cruiser, radial or not. I could easily pay 120-160 bucks and not get a better tire. Your mileage may vary, but I can find no better tire for my bike. If someone knows of a better tire, I'd like to know about it. Two years ago my wife and I did a nitrogen fill on our tires and I haven't lost any air after the first 6 months. My tires settled down to 35 lbs per tire from 41 lbs after all the oxygen worked it's way out of the tire and I've left it there. I used to run 40-41 lbs but had to fill them every month or two. It cost 6 bucks a tire to fill with nitrogen but I'll do it again just for convenience's sake. Also the tires don't heat up like air filled tires but I haven't seen any improvement in tire life. Well, maybe just a little, perhaps I'll get an extra 1000 or 1500 miles, but not the 40% that has been touted. At 35 lbs the front tire wanders a little on rain grooves, which it didn't do at 40 but the ride overall is a little smoother. I like these tires and I'm replacing the tires on my wife's Silverwing scooter with them. Enough said.

Great tire excellent grip and got about 14 k out of the tire
Great tire excellent grip and got about 14 k out of the tire and excellent sidewall traction. I have it on a v-star 1100 and have cornered many times to the point i drag my foot pegs on pavement iv never have any worries with loss of traction with this shinko. this is my 3rd set and only style of tire that i put on my bike.

Great tire at any cost!!
This is the third 230 Tourmaster rear tire that I have purchased and it will most likely not be the last. I have run both Avon and Dunlop on my motorcycle and honestly these Shinko Tourmaster 230's ride as good or better than the others AND they last longer! Now I am no small fry at 350lbs. and I averaged right at 10,000 miles on my last two Shinko 230's (rear). Now I am adding a Shinko 230 to the front end and getting rid of the Dunlop. I fully expect to be exceedingly happy with it too. I ride 50/50 city/hwy and have a lot of stop and go traffic which will wear on a tire faster than normal and I still get great mileage out of the tire. Handles great and provides a smoothe, comfortable ride both wet and dry. Now it does say TOURmaster, not RACEmaster. I ride a VT1100. If you are on a touring bike or a cruiser, this is the tire for you. Superbikes might want want to look at Shinko's other products.

Supplier Review! Chaparral Motorsports, Awesome!!
Shinko tires already have a great reputation. Used (not abused) in the right application they always perform as expected. These are basically Yokohama tires. This review is for the supplier. The tire came in just a few days of purchase, which is great, but what was a nice surprise was the DATE CODE! The tire was manufactured less than 90 days of my purchase, THAT IS AWESOME!! How often do you buy something online only to find out it was over stock from Last Year! I have since bought more tires from Chaparral Motorsports and so far I have no reason to go anyplace else. In the event I have a problem with future purchases or customer service I WILL update this review. So far so Awesome!

Very happy with this tire
I bought this tire base on few vmax 1st gen rider's they seam to like the tire a lot. So I bought 1 to try out. I install the tire my self took about 45min and balance it. Now let say wow like the look and fitment on my vmax. The old dunlap tire size was 150/90 15 I bought last year only got about 5200 miles out of it the rear tire. So not sure why some of the 1 to 2 star reviews if your getting over 5500 miles out of rear motorcycle tire your doing good. Just about all the bikes I had in the pass tires never exceeded to 6000 miles on the rear tire of the bikes I was on. Now the tire it's sticks rear good in the turns and take off's strong. Ride is smooth so far 167 miles tire still looks new. I will update on the mileage / ware on the tire. To me best gang for your money. I bought it from Chaparral Motorsports very good people to talk to over the phone.

So far so good
This is a pretty good tire for a pretty good price. Installed myself on a 2006 Vmax and it fits no problem. A couple sizes wider than stock. Handling was markedly improved. I don't have any idea on longevity, but it seems to be great so far. Would recommend for the money. I bought based on a lot of other Vmax owner feedback.

Amazing tire for the money!
Incredible motorcycle tire for the money! I just got this mounted the other day (finally), and can't say anything yet about tire longevity. But it holds the road real good and corners perfect steady.I bought the Shinko Tour Master 230 (both front & rear) to replace the Pirelli MT66 tires that i wore down to a slick. I got about 13,000 out of the front and 14,000 out of the rear. Let's hope I get about the same longevity from these Shinko's! At least they are way better than the (horrible) Dunlop D404 --- which we all know about, and only get about 8000 miles out of those crappy tires.
