Q: Is this watch waterproof for activities such as showering, swimming laps in a pool, and doing the dishes? I prefer to keep my watch on constantly.

There is conflicting information on the Water Resistance of this watch. The information on Amazon and other sellers pages indicate that it is Water Resistant to 30 meters. I own this watch and, according to Seiko's own brochure (which came with the watch), this watch is inscribed with "Water Resistant" (only) on the case. This means that it is Water Resistant to 3 bars (or 3 atmospheres). Although "3 Bar" is Water Resistant to 30 Meters, Seiko does not recommend swimming with it. It is ok to get wet in the rain, or doing dishes, or even in the shower. (Haven't tested this yet, however). "Higher" ratings by Seiko are shown as "Water Resistant 5 Bar" on the case. (Or 10 bar/15 bar/20 bar). Final comment: It IS a great watch.

It's definitely not 8 mm. It's 11. Very comfortable nonetheless.
