I ordered the medium. My French Bulldogs usually kill the squeaker inside new toys within 15 minutes of getting ahold of them. My oldest sets about dismantling any toy but he also eats the stuffing once he opens up a toy. Which has caused many medical issues! This toy has no stuffing and survived to be chomped another day! My youngest Frenchie is obsessed with this toy. One reviewer wished the squeaker was louder but I appreciate that it’s rather quiet. The dogs still like the noise but you can hold a conversation or watch TV without wanting to break the squeaker yourself. It’s more durable than it looks. The floppy legs are apparently appealing for shaking the poor nekkid chicken to “death.” My little guys love it so 5 stars!

I thought the Lanco Romanesco Broccoli/Cauliflower toy was the best dog toy in the world until I purchased Lanco"s Original Rubber Chicken toy. The variety of features on the chicken, including the stringy legs contrasting with the wider soft body, keep dogs interested. Every morning, my daughter's hound/pit pup insists on coming up to the big house to take the chicken from our German shepherd pup and play with it for hours. The chicken's squeaker is not obnoxious and is very appealing to our dogs. They eventually punctured a small hole in the neck and got the squeaker out after three weeks of very intensive play with the chicken. The rubber is definitely more durable than the plastic used to produce most dog toys. My dogs also enjoy the red rubber ball and the caterpillar, but the chicken is their favorite toy.

The last few chickens I’ve gotten from other sellers, my dog chewed them up in a day or two. This rubber chicken is still going strong! He’s had it for almost a week. My dog loves it and doesn’t like anyone else touching it. So cheap isn’t always best!

For some reason my dogs did not like playing with these. I think it was the smell.

Our dog has gone nuts for this chicken. Have it for about 4 months now and she's still crazy about it. Still her favorite. She runs around playing with it by herself. It's like they put doggy crack in it or something to make it addictive. I'm buying one as a gift for a friends dog. Our dog is 50lbs and an aussie mix. Really entertains herself with it but also we have been able to do gentle tugging with it and it's durable. She is not a destroy the toy dog so don't know how it would hold up with dogs who like to rip into things but for our dog this is the best toy ever. I also find it important it's non toxic and there is no loose squeaker to be ripped out. I hope they never stop making this and continue the sturdy quality! Update- we adopted a 2nd dog (42lbs) and the 2 dogs play with this chicken. It's probably a year old now and still holding up even with the tugging. Still a favorite toy.
