I am a little shocked at how high the reviews are for this product. Perhaps those who wrote good reviews didn’t purchase the white drums.I have a cake company and usually order a different brand where the grease proof paper is folded under the cardboard drum. So, all the folds are on the bottom. This brand has two sides, the bottom has regular white paper covering the cardboard bottom and the grease proof paper is folded over on the top and the edges are glued down with another grease proof circle over it. You really have to pay attention to which side you place your cake on (I have messed this up several times) to make sure you are on the grease proof side.The real problem is when you scrape your frosting - as you scrape the folded paper edges on the top keep your scraper from smoothing out the cake as it will hit all those edges when you move your turntable.Also, because there is a circle glued on the top of those edges any frosting, grease/oil, or water will soak under those edges of that paper and make “watermarks” between the cracks, which can be seen when you present your cake.The only redeeming quality of the board was that it was very durable and cake manage a 3 tier cake.

I really like this brand of cake drums. They have always been consistent with their product no matter what size I get. The only thing I would change is the seam at the top edge of the drum. They are greaseproof on 99% of the drum but if you accidentally smear some buttercream over that seam that surrounds the entire edge, the grease soaks right in and and stains the drum. I always have to be extra careful using these so that doesn’t happen. The other brand I have purchased uses one solid piece to cover the top and edges so there is no chance of staining or discoloration, but then you have to sacrifice the perfectly smooth edges around the.

I use multiple 1/2" cake drums every week and have used hundreds over the past few years. I have NEVER seen another drum there it looked like the top, patterned part was pasted on top, as opposed to coming down over the sides and being attached on the bottom. It looks horrendous and completely unprofessional and I am embarrassed to have to use these on an order this weekend. Customer specifically requested a white board and this is what I ordered, so I am stuck, but I will never order these again.

While they were thick and sturdy and had smooth edges, the trade off was their rough binding at the top seams. I could see gaps between the paper where the top and sides of the board were assembled. I also like to crumb my cakes directly on the drums but couldn’t do so with these! They were not perfectly smooth on the surface - not only was that unattractive but the little ridges wouldn’t allow my scraper to move smoothly around my cakes. They get the job done but if you’re meticulous like I am about textures, I would not recommend.

Looks very nice and very sturdy. The cake was super dense and heavy and the drum held up well! I picked this one because the drum is fully wrapped so you don’t see the seam.

Theses cake drums are great! I use them for all of my wedding cakes. They are very strong and dependable! I use the ribbon to tie up my cake tasting boxes. I have ordered them many times!

These are fantastic and I’ve reordered in several sizes. They have held my two tier cakes without any signs of fatigue. The ribbon that they come with is perfect too. I’m very happy with these and the price is better than my local bake shop.

It worked out great. I saw a few comments about cake frosting leaving like grease stains and coloring not coming of cake board, but I didn’t experience any of it. Would definitely buy again.
