Colorbasket 00696 Front Handle Bar Adult Bike Basket, Water Resistant, Leather Straps

We live in South Florida and ride year round. Purchased this for my wife's bike in June of 2015 because of the following promotional material put out by Colorbasket:“The cord is so durable you can clean it in the dishwasher. Bike baskets spend a lot of time outside, exposed to all types of elements. We wanted to design a basket that would resist the damaging effects of water and sun and whose bright beautiful colors could withstand long exposure.”Don't believe it !!! Within 18 mos (out of warranty of course), the "cord", with which the basket is made, literally started to crumble into small pieces. You cannot even touch it, let alone put something in the basket. We really liked the basket and were excited about having one that wouldn't rust. I'll take a can of spray paint & a rusting basket over one that crumbles in your hands.I tried emailing Colorbasket thru Amazon and directly on December 16th, and have not received any response.

Great basket, easy buckle attachment to any shape handle bars, sturdy and big enough to carry groceries or small-medium size pet but I returned because it was larger than I was wanting. Including a picture of it on a 26" adult cruizer bike and then the junior size basket I swapped it out for which is made the same just a different shape. I LOVE these baskets!!!!

Great basket, very attractive and a perfect size! Will hold a considerable amount (5-6 books, or a pretty good amount of groceries, though you don't want anything on the front of your bike to be too heavy...). My bike is white, so the white basket is just the ticket, and because it is not wicker it will stand up to the elements quite well presumably; also presumably can be cleaned with a strong jet from a hose if it gets dirty. 4 rather than 5 stars simply because I find the cables from the speed regulator, coming down from the right side of the handlebar, tend to shove the basket a bit to the left, off center. When it's full this may not be as noticeable.

I kept looking at the more expensive wicker baskets but the reviews were mostly horrible- they broke all the time, wore out, bottom fell out, etc. This one is plastic but looks like painted wicker, I guess. I love it! Waterproof, really great quality, heavy wicker- the lake and summer storms had no effect on it. Held a ton of stuff over the summer, too! My little 5 lb. Yorkie fits well into it also with plenty of room to spare for a towel, water bottle, etc. I have a mostly-black Raleigh and this black basket looks great on it, too! I’m completely happy with my purchase, but I’ve only had it one summer season so far so will update my review if it doesn’t continue to impress. The only possible future downfall is the leather straps that come with it aren’t the thickest leather, so far so good but with weathering the straps might wear out earlier than the actual basket. If so, they are easily replaceable, though.2020 update: Basket still going strong! My little Yorkie still goes out with me in it, along with a heavy battery charger for my iPhone so I can listen to my books while I ride, and sometimes extra water, my doggie’s blanket so she can comfortably snuggle down when she wants (our rides are loooong) and other things at times. Despite all the weight it’s holding up perfectly, and still looks wonderful! During COVID-19 we have biked a lot but the basket is no worse for wear since purchasing. I do store my bike in the garage. I don’t remove the basket when toting my bike on the car, though. It’s travelled pretty far without issues on the back of our Foresters.

This basket is aesthetically very cute and big. The problem with this is a few things:-The basket is a tiny bit too big to fit between Schwinn bike handlebars, which means it tilts to one side and has to be constantly adjusted. It was also big enough that it disrupted my front brake (by moving around the brake cable) and I had to get it readjusted by a bike shop.-The basket huge and can contain so much, but is not sturdy enough for anything too heavy. So it could technically fit a grocery bag full of food, but the basket will drag down on your front wheel because of the weight. This could probably be fixed with a bar attached to the basket, holding it up on the bottom.

Disappointed...Its a beautiful basket but didn't last long at all! I keep under cover and has never gotten wet and it totally dry rotted and started falling appart. Big disappointment after spend $50 bucks! Now I have to look for another one to buy...my little dog loves going bike riding with me , good thing I noticed it stating to crumble or she would've fell through, which could have been a disaster if she fell out and got away!

Love this basket- not only is it nice looking, it’s very well made. The basket is sturdy and well made. The basket weave is tight and sleek. The straps are easy to hook onto your handle bars and securily hold the basket in place. 2 tone color is very rich. A nice cocoa brown basket with black trim. The overall color is warm and glossy,

Basket fits Step-Daughters bike perfectly and looks good with the Rose Gold color of her bike!! Straps on handle bars in seconds !

Cons:-not cheap but you get what you pay for-buckles and leather straps. Think they will last but seem to be downgrade from rest of basket. Wish leather and buckle were made from thicker material. Only reason took off one star.Pros:-looks really good. Looks like real wicker but should last way longer in the elements-easy to attach. Think should stay in place.-nice size for bike. Fits perfectly between the grips.Haven’t been able to use. November in Canada. Reason pics taken inside. Will update as we use it and see how it holds out. Looks really good. Think should work for us.

Fits on my 'cruiser' perfectly and the interior size is generous. Gave it a 4 because a handle, to take it into the shop, would be an added bonus and safety feature because it is easy to undo the leather straps to quickly remove. I always worry about theft of bike parts. Otherwise a solid 5.

Looks great! Got this for my wife, and she loves it. Has lots of room in it and is easy to attach to bike. The belts can also be moved around easily making it easy to attach to any bike.
