I'm impressed! They held up to 20+ mph wind gusts.
I'm in NY and I camp in what's called a swag, which is an Australian style tent. They're made of heavy duty canvas and don't typically come with a rain fly.I have the worst luck with camping because noatter the forecast, rain follows me. So, to be safe, I set up a tarp over my swag in case it rained. I set it up as a kind of lean to, with the back corners angled towards the ground and the front corners as a canopy over my tent.I needed some poles to make this happen and I used these guys. They did great . They stayed in place. The tension rod mechanism didn't slip at all during the night. The top has a pin that fits through the grommet of your tarp. The bottom has a nice wide base to give it stability.I angled the poles inward and used the guy lines to keep them upright. I hate guy lines. But they're necessary in camping. We will see how long they last. They feature a twist to secure tension mechanism to keep the telescoping poles in place. That's how you adjust the height of them. I can see those wearing down at some point.

12 Days 👍
Worked great with my “Noah’s Tarp”, 16’X16’ for 12 windy days of the EAA Oshkosh airshow, no problems. Would buy again!

Exactly what I needed
I ordered a different brand initially that ended up far too short for what I needed. These provide a variety of heights so I can lift the shade panel of my car tent if needed.

Seemed sturdy, but broke unexpectedly
Honestly, this product seemed so promising. I read other reviews and was expecting no issues in Arizona summer camping (virtually no wind or rain). First time using the poles, they went up fine and locked into position. Stayed in place for about 36 hours before one of the poles buckled unexpectedly, collapsing our shade cover. Luckily we were leaving that afternoon and had no rain or bad weather. I will update if the company reaches out to me.

Worked well for setting up tarp
I can't yet give 5 stars as I have only used them once. Used it to hold up one end of a 12x16 tarp. Other end of tarp was attached to a trailer. It was WINDY and they did great. We used two guy lines on each pole to keep them steady (we had one blow-over when we just had only one guy line - two.. fixed it right up). It's nice to be able to telescope them without click beads. Easy to make adjustments to your preference and more precise. The top cap is nice as well. I also like the rubber bottoms. Theses were set up on concrete and they didn't move much at all. They seemed pretty sturdy, but I could see if you over extended, and over exerted them, there might be a problem, but that is true of everything. I'm contemplating ordering another set.
