Great new races, interesting warlock quests
This is one of the small expansions to Talisman but a very nice one.The expansion introduces:* the necromancer, an evil master of spirits who can make them fight on his side* the warlock a strong caster with a minor advantage on warlock quests* the ogre chieftan, a brute who can avoid fighting monster and make defeated ones fight on his side* the leprechaun who doesn't look like much but his ability to get gold in woods and teleport to any space in a region on a move roll of "6" is quite powerfulAll four of these races are some of the popular races in our game group. The warlock quest cards make warlock quests much more interesting. It's a very colorful and entertaining new dimension to the game. The two new victory conditions are decent. The Ice Queen one is similar to several others in the various expansions. The warlock quest one is quite fun and makes for a very different type of game. And, of course, there are many more spells and adventure cards. It's an excellent addition to the game and well worth adding.

A bit cool on Frostmarch
Of all the currently released expansion sets for Talisman: The Magical Quest Game, 4th edition "Frostmarch" is the weakest. There are not any real game-changing cards here; just some new characters, some new adventure cards, and some alternate endings. But even being the weakest of the expansions, if you are a Talisman fan then the set is a must-buy.The main change "Frostmarch" brings to the game is the concept of Alternate Endings that was so crucial to the original Games Workshop "Talisman" board game. However, instead of giving you the whole batch at once Fantasy Flight has decided to leak a few out with each expansion the same way they are doing with the characters. There are three Alternate Ending cards in "Frostmarch." One, the Warlock's Quest, has to be decided on at the start of the adventure. It basically replaces the victory conditions, giving each player four Warlock's Quest cards and when the fourth card is complete you get a Talisman and a teleport to the Inner Circle. This makes for less player-killing, as everyone is trying to complete their quests rather than attacking each other. The other two Alternate Ending cards are the Crown and Scepter, which is essentially a more deadly version of the Crown of Command, and the Ice Queen, a 12/12 character who makes you lose a few turns if she defeats you. No Horrible Black Void or Belt of Heracles. Fingers crossed for later expansions.Along with this, there are four new characters, familiar from the original game, like the Leprechaun, some new like the Ogre Chieftain. I have the same complaint with these as I did with the main game. I wish they would have a better balance of male/female characters. So many can be of either gender it seems like they would put more effort there. As always, the set comes with plastic miniatures of each character. Very cool.As far as the Adventure Cards go, they are a mix of old and new. There are several "miss a turn" -effect monsters which seems to be the theme of "Frostmarch." Get it? They are frozen so they miss a turn. More adventure cards are always welcome, and add good variety to the game.I must admit to being VERY disappointed that Fantasy Flight decided to make two Alternate Ending cards available online only. The Crown of Command card and the Danse Macabre card (for which you need Talisman: Reaper Expansion ) are available as print-outs. This is somewhat in keeping with the spirit of the old Talisman. I have several cards cut out from White Dwarf magazine. But for the Alternate Endings it isn't as much fun as you can clearly see which cards came with the set and which ones were printed out from the internet. I hope that both cards are included in a later set.

Great Expansion
Our group only plays with 2 of the 4 characters in this expansion, as the Leprechaun and Warlock just *feel* a little too powerful compared to the others, especially those from the standard board. The other 2 on the other hand are incredibly fun and everyone was eager to try them both. The Warlocks Quests alternate ending is also a hit, as a few people in our group hate the idea of reaching the crown and losing, but still want some flavor in the game.

It's More Stuff
The Reaper Expansion, which is the only other small box set I own for this game, added an interesting and engaging mechanic that fit well into the game. This one just adds more stuff (adventures, a lot in fact, spells, and characters) which is great but it doesn't seem to express the theme too well. The characters are for the most part interesting, but I am not convinced the Warlock is balanced enough.

Great, but not the greatest
This expansion is a good addition to my Talisman collection. It is not the best of the expansions (I rank it 3rd behind Reaper and Sacred Pool... I don't own Bloodmoon), but it is still a good addition to the game. New characters and adventure cards are always welcome. The theme is good, as well. Now, what to do with this ridiculously tall stack of adventure cards...

Almost every expansion has made the game better
This game has so many cards that I can't keep track of which is which, but with the exceptions of dragons and neather realms thus far, every expansion has added to my enjoyment of the game. Talisman is my favorite board game hands down.

A mini expansion for the magic types
It doesn't drastically change the game, as far as I recall. It does have some great characters to play around with (a wizard and warlock character are what I would note). You got your standard alternate ending to play with but it's just a different way to beat the final boss.

Love it!!!!
Nice addition to an already excellent remake of Talisman. Definitely suggested buy.Only con is the price vs what you get. $15 would be a good price point for this product, not $23.

Excellent addition for Talisman!
Frostmarch is an excellent addition to the base game of Talisman, adding great variety to the Adventure and Spell decks, as well as a Warlock quest deck should you wish for more variety than those already on the board. Add to this 4 excellent new characters and this is very much worth recommending to further expand the random nature of the base game of Talisman. For more drastic game changes go for the bigger sets, but this is great to go straight into your base game permanently.

If you have Talisman 4th Edition I would highly recommend getting this expansion very much like the others
This is another Fantasy Flight Games Boxed Set, again the quality is of a high nature, and the contents and artwork is superb. If you have Talisman 4th Edition I would highly recommend getting this expansion very much like the others. Excellent addition.

Pretty Good
This set adds to Talisman revised 4th edition simply by adding more cards and a few more characters. Some of the places, strangers ect. are quite exciting but I don't see the point of the alternative Ice Queen ending and the enemies included get somewhat lost in the main deck. On the whole, good for fans of Talisman looking for a huge and fun-packed game, but not ideal if you're getting this as your only expansion and perhaps slightly meaningless (in other words, other expansions are more reliable).
