It lasted for about a month before it wilted - even though I kept it watered and kept it in a partly sunny window. All the kits I researched said the grass dies after a few weeks. Easy to set up, grass sprouts and grows quickly. I would have ordered another kit but here's the draw-backs to this one: the container and soil mix extremely light-weight; one of my cats tries to pull up the grass and tips it over. This type of grass seed can be purchased separately so I'm going to look for a planter with some weight to it. I recycle but try not to purchase containers that needs to be recycled because the process of recycling uses energy resources and releases toxins into the air. If you haven't grown grass for your indoor pets buy one of these kits and try it. It's nutritious and helps their digestive system.

Our cat has been troubled by hairballs recently, and this did the trick. It is a natural herb that the cat likes to chew on and eat, and the first few days it helped her remove some very large hairballs. Now she just chews on a piece here and there, and is doing fine. The grass has become somewhat lite or yellow, even though keeping it watered and in sun. I suspect the grass has a shelf life, but for now, just keeping it going. I would buy this again, it really helped our cat feel better. Good Idea and product!

Got these at a great deal, super easy and fun to grow, but only lasts about a week and then starts wilting really quickly. Once you have the lid off there is really only a couple of days that it looks good and healthy. The grass seems to be in need of more soil, because while it grows fast and there is a lot, it isn't about to support itself and starts tumbling over the sides.I might consider to try these again -- maybe I can repot, trim, or not add only half of the seeds per starter box. My cat didn't touch it, and while I was impressed with quick and fruitful results, it didn't really have the functional impact as desired and intended.

I ordered this when I had a headcold and thought I was ordering catnip. Its just grass and my cat is not in the lease but interested in it. Yes, it sprouts fast and is edible in about 3-4 days. It replenishes itself. I can of course get grass seed quite a bit cheaper locally and sow them myself. If you do want to grow grass indoors, this kit has everything you need except water and sunshine so it's not a bad value for convenience. I entered catnip in the search box on Amazon and when this came up I threw it in my cart not realizing it's regular grass. If I could return it I would because it isn't what I expected and I have no use for it.

Just follow the included directions and in a few days you have a mini greenhouse filled with luscious green cat grass. The 3 test subject cats enjoyed it in small doses, and almost as much employment was found from laying faces, paws and legs on top of it once they were done eating. Can be messy, so plan ahead with towel or drop cloth underneath if you offer it to them inside.There is not much stability, so be prepared for some clean up as it most likely will get knocked over.I am knocking off one star due to the packaging. Unfortunately it was shipped in a thin padded envelope not a box, so the plastic lid was crushed and the base was tweaked so I had to use a rubber band to keep the two halved together.The grass seeds and soil pellet were not damaged, and the product grew grass as expected.

I usually buy my cat grass at the pet store and he loves it. So I decided to try purchasing this since I felt it would be fresher. First of all, the packaging was terrible. The plastic growing containers were dented and dirt was everywhere. The tops would not stay on so I had to tape them together. Finally got some grass to grow but my cat did not like it! I am going to try a different brand next time that has sturdier containers and is contained in little growing bags and hopefully he will like that grass. This was a dismal experiment.

I have also managed to keep it alive with minimal attention, and because it grows so quickly, even the most voracious grass-eating carnivore would have trouble eating all of it before it's able to grow back. And the price is right. Would wholeheartedly recommend for your furry friend.
