WKL 2200 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit, 265 Cu.Ft. Capacity

Similar to other reviews re :TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and WARRANTY to them means you did something wrong and therefore we refuse to help you. My husband spoke to a man named "Mini" after our repair guy had called and advocated for us since our Breezaire was only 9 months old and still under warranty. There were no issues, but the unit just stopped working. Mini stated that there must've been a power surge and therefore we are liable and warranty is void. We never had a power surge, and when my husband calmly tried to explain that it was the unit that failed and that we only purchased from Breezaire because the previous unit was Breezaire (purchased by previous homeowners) and lasted over 13 years. Mini stated "Well, I'm surprised it lasted that long" to which my now upset husband answered, "if you're saying that the unit should not have lasted that long, then you're admitting that these units have a short life!" When my husband said that he will give his business elsewhere because of the lack of "customer support," the response was just "that's your choice." There was never an apology, no offer of support.NEVER PURCHASE FROM BREEZAIRE. These units are already expensive, so purchase one where they care about their product and their customer!

This is my second Breezaire 2200. The first one lasted 17 years, which I consider very good. Form factor is still the same, so installation was a breeze (pun intended). Digital temperature control is a welcome improvement to the original. I'm very satisfied.

Keeps room at a constant temp. Runs reasonably quietly about every couple of hours.

Breezaire WKL-2200 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit -Max Room Size = 265 cu ft: Had a model WK1060 installed in 12/01. It ran 6 mos and but couldn't keep a 65 cu ft wine room cold enough (58 to 60 degrees F). In 6/02, the Company replaced it, free of charge, with a WK2200 (advertised as good for up to 265 cu ft) and that unit ran well for about 5 years. In 2008 the unit started to run 24/7 in order to hold the room temp at about 60 degrees F. Note that the wine room was specifically designed for its intended purpose (special insulation, vapor barrier, thermo door - full seal gasket on 3 sides and a drop gasket for the floor), red wood bins designed for good circulation). In 2/12 the unit gave up and would no longer cool. It would seem that a refrigeration unit, as supposedly oversized as this one, should give you good service for longer than 9 years. But, since the installation hole is sized for this unit, i am going to replace it with the essentially the same thing - the WKL 2200. Mine is cooling a converted closet with about 700 bottles in it. The unit has worked fine for well over 12 years with only one recharge of coolant. A fan just went out so I'm replacing the whole unit after this long rather than start replacing parts.

Work well for the first ten days and then a sensor went bad. I had to go through weeks of back and forth with the company trying various fixes they suggested. Finally, they agree to cover the cost to ship the unit back for repair (not replace). It seems to be working now.

I've had my existing Breezaire 2200 for 25 years and it has worked like a champ. I have not needed to do any maintenance to it. It is still cooling but the thermostat does not seem to be working because it runs constantly. I've been very happy with my Breezaire; it keeps my 6'x6'x6' cellar the perfect temp.
