Levy'sLeathers Signature Legacy Series 4.5" Garment Leather Guitar Strap; Black (MSS2-4-BLK)

I had a narrow strap before this which made my shoulder hurt after 20 mins of playing on stage.I started searching for a wide, soft leather strap that doesn't pull on my clothes when moving about.This is a wonderful strap.Very high quality leather. The stitching is nice (can improve a bit more with double stitching on some areas.)The padding is thick enough where it offers the support and comfort yet still lightweight.When the shipment came, I couldn't believe it was the box that had the strap because it was so light and didn't feel like there's anything in the box.At first, I thought the maker had cheated on the material (not enough leather) because it is so unlike other simple cut out leather pieces. But later i came to appreciate the fact that this was carefully designed with padding and the designer look. No wonder they call it the signature series.The blue is a very nice color.The strap also doesn't cause sweat on your shoulder during hot summer hours because it slides easily.Love it!Highly recommended buy!

I have a Gibson Victory Artist bass which weighs as much as my car. As an old fart, I'm increasingly finding it hard to stand up for long periods of time -add this pig of a bass to my belly load and my shoulder and back pay for it dearly the next day. This well padded, but not too thick strap distributes the weight over a larger area and because it's not wimpy and doesn't just curl up, I can maneuver the bass to a good comfortable position and it just stays there. I ordered the 4" strap and kinda wish I'd ordered the three inch as it's just a wee bit wide for me -but that's my own fault. This is really super well made and looks great -I can easily expect to have it 'til I croak. For something that relieves so much hassle and feels so great, it's well worth the extra 25 bucks over a cheap ass strap.

I bought this strap in the Amazon Warehouse for less than $27. It said "used" but arrived new and repackaged (which is typically my experience with Amazon Warehouse deals). What a deal! I wanted a wider strap for my Epiphone '58 Korina Flying V becaues it is a little neck heavy. I also bought a M4GF strap at the same time (also very cheap) to see which worked best for the V. For the V, the Levy's Leathers M4GF-BLK 3-inch Garment Leather with Thong,Black won the battle. The suede underside on the M4GF keeps the guitar from neck dipping at all. But, this review is for the MSS2-4. This strap is just beautiful. The strap is not as flexible and fluid as the M4GF, but that is likely because the strap is multi-layered with soft leather on the underside and has a good amount of padding. I have a super heavy '83 Gibson Explorer, for which this strap is perfect. The strap is actually 4.3/8" wide, and is very comfortable. It actually makes the Explorer feel lighter. It slides on my shoulder with ease, which is exactly what I needed for the Explorer. This strap will be much cooler (as in less sweating beneath the strap when playing) than the M4GF because the M4GF has the soft leather underside instead of a suede underside. The strap has the leather oval Levy's button logo sewn on instead of just having the logo stamped into the leather like on the M4GF, and this is a nice touch. If I find more MSS2-4s in the Amazon Warehouse cheap, I'll definitely buy them.

As usual Levy makes some of the finest leather straps around. The fit and finish is top notch and the quality of the leather good as it gets. It's a very nice looking strap.It was a bit tough to fit the Dunlop straplocks to the ends as they were so thick. But I was able to make it work. I could never imagine this strap failing or having the stitching come apart. Levy is very generous with the leather. The strap is a bit stiff so I've been working it to get it to break in. Because it is glove leather the strap seems very light in weight.I am a bass player and I've found over the years that different basses work best with different straps. I don't have a bad shoulder or back but I still suffer from shoulder pain after wearing even my lightest basses. This is typically after about an hour and a half. This strap offers another option. I would not hesitate to buy another one of these.

Very impressed with the quality of the strap. Played for 2+ hours and no back or shoulder pains. I I'm 72 and finally found a strap that I like!

Fits perfectly standing or sitting since this belt can be adjusted. It is also comfortable since it is wide.

The Levy's leather straps are a great value, and this larger size works well for heavier bass guitars.
