Perfect for Beach Day and Getaways
The Coleman Utopia Breeze Reclining Beach Mat is a great find! It’s compact, easy to store, and super convenient to pack for a quick getaway. It works just as well on the sand as it does on grass, making it perfect for the beach, park, or even just lounging in the backyard. When a beach mat and a beach chair have a baby...
The beach draws all types of people: those that love to lie flat on a towel and catch some rays, and those that love to sit up in a chair and read. Well, I wanted to do both during my vacation to Ocean City. And this portable beach mat was the perfect choice. I was surprised by how efficient it was. A light metal frame at the top, a couple of adjustable straps, and BAM!, you can prop yourself up. When I felt like lying down to get a nice even tan, I just extended the straps as far as they could go, or shifted down the mat a bit. If I wanted a slight recline, I tightened them a bit, and if I wanted to sit up all the way and read, I could do that too. That mat itself is a lovely color, and much lighter than a chair to carry, which was good since the closest parking we could get to the beach was several blocks away. I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen more of these around. You don't know what you're missing out on!

Needs one major improvement
The mechanism for holding up the seat back to the poles needs improvement. AKA there is none. They could have added a vecro strap or some sort of mechanism to hold it in place. Instead, it falls off frequently and sends you tumbling down. If they were to make the pocket a little deeper/fitted, it would fix the issue.

Do Not Buy
The cloth straps that are required to set the chairs up and pack them are of Very Poor quality. After 1 season the straps simply disintegrate, which leaves you with a useless beach mat and must be trashed. Its rather odd because the rest of the beach mat (Seating Mat and Metal Supports) is of good quality and not prone to rot. All of the straps on these beach mats need to be re-engineered with strong water proof materials.
