La Cenerentola: Libretto Paperback – August 1, 1987

The editors admit to adapting this English translation by restoring certain elements in the text of the fairy tale "Cinderella" as it is known in America - the elimination of the matching bracelets in the Italian libretto by Ferretti, and replacing them with a pair of glass slippers! No where in the Italian does it mention glass slippers. These editors were also more interested in making the English rhyme than presenting a real translation of the Italian. So much of the true meaning, mood, and context is lost.

The translation was excellent and singable.
