A wonderful Catholic children's Bible
I am a big fan of Maite Roche's illustrations and text, having found her books through independent/import publishers previously, and am so happy to discover Ignatius has put out this new book for young children. The illustrations are beautiful - simple, yet with a lot of detail in each picture to notice. Each page has one large picture, with two smaller representative images above and below the text on the right - for instance, in the Nativity scene, Jesus, Mary and Joseph are shown in the stable, with shepherds coming to see the baby, the wise men on camels in the distance following a star, and an angel speaking to the shepherds in the field. On the right, Jesus is shown in the manger and a little calf sits on the hay. The text is appropriate for younger children (I would say 1-4 at least) to be read to but also for early readers, and it is orthodox and instructive. Events of the Gospels included are: the Annunciation, the Nativity, Jesus in temple, the baptism of Jesus, the calling of the apostles, the miracle of the loaves and the fishes, the calming of the storm, the entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Passion and Crucifixion, the women finding the empty tomb, and Jesus's last instructions to the apostles. Other pages include a scene of Christ's life as a boy with his family, Christ teaching the crowds, and the "let the children come to me" moment.Physically, this book is great as well - padded cover, sturdy board pages, and a nice size. A wonderful resource!

Son's favorite
This is my 2.5 year old's favorite book and it has been since he was 1 year old. We originally had a paper copy but he ripped through it and my mom bought him the board book version for Easter. It is just beautiful! He's in love with the rich, colorful illustrations and sweet story--his favorite page is of the children sitting with Jesus. Ask him what he wants to read and he says "I want my Jesus book!"

This is wonderful!
This is a perfect little summation of the Gospels for babies- it's appealing and not too overwhelming, but not condescending either- it just tells the true story of Jesus in simple words. The pictures are beautiful and have little details that reveal themselves when you read it again and again. I bought it for my son 6 months ago and we still read it all the time (he's almost 2). He spends a long time studying the pictures and asks for specific scenes in the life of Christ based on the pictures. I got one for my niece's Baptism as well.

Beautiful Book!
Beautiful illustrations! Simple stories, but they completely capture the heart of the Gospel. Bought as a baptism present, and was very pleased.

Lovely for children and adults
The illustrations are beautiful and the stories are right on. My kiddo loves this one as well as "The Bible for Little Ones."

I'm glad I did because I will be ordering more in ...
I ordered this to give to my grandchild for Christmas. I read through it after receiving it. I'm glad I did because I will be ordering more in the future. Good read and very loving book to share my faith with the little ones.
