1/4" mesh is small and will not hold many wires. You can get a single 12ga insulated wire through it without expanding it. You can expand it by pushing it back on itself and get, perhaps (4) 12ga insulated wires through it but it will be stretched and thin. May not provide as much protection as you expect.It is a non returnable item. I did not see any reference to that when I ordered it and is the first time I have seen an Amazon non-software item with that restriction.The (4) free heat shrink pieces were found by accident inside the hole of the spool. for several days I thought they didn't send them.If you want to protect/conceal/organize a few small wires this is a perfect solution. For my purpose (six 12ga insulated wires) I ended up using their 1/2" product.

This product was horrible to use. It took over two weeks to get poor shipping service.As far as the product is it is subpar. Soon as I cut the end it just started defeating and I couldn’t even slide 4 22mm size wires through it. Very difficult to use and feed wires through it. Disappointed!

Great product, just make sure to keep it away from anything too hot as it melts somewhat easily
