they are not as easy to put on or take off as traditional oven ...
Not a huge fan - they do get hot if you hold something for more than a few seconds, which was kind of disappointing. And just because of the nature of the material and fit, they are not as easy to put on or take off as traditional oven mitts - you kind of have to work them in just like regular gloves. But they do what they're supposed to - basic putting things in and taking them out of the oven is great, and the grippy fingers makes it easier to do more delicate work with the gloves on. So although they don't replace my regular mitts, I'll still use these when I need that.

What's the purpose if they don't keep heat out?
We purchased these in 2014 to replace a pair of silicone gloves from another manufacturer. We loved our previous pair for their durability and heat protection, but were unable to find that brand again. That's why we purchased this pair. But these gloves don't do a very good job of protecting your hands from heat. Initially, there is some protection, but by the time you have to put the cookie sheet on the stovetop your hands feel like they are getting burnt. I don't see the point, as it practically feels like you're grabbing the hot item with your bare hands.

.
Works ok. I have been using them with my canning. You can't use them to pull the jars out of the canning pot but they work great for handling the hot jar and tightening the lids. Works good on the grill and smoker too.

Not so hot.
You can hold a hot frying pan or a pan hot out of the oven for maybe 5 seconds before it starts to burn.I've actually had to run to get a hot dish out of my hands. Works great with dry ice though.

Not what I hoped for
I thought these looked good but it's hard to get your hand in and if there's even the slightest bit of moisture on your hand or the glove it won't go in at all. They are also bulky and hard to use. I gave one away and use the other as a trivet.

I like them. They are not as heat resistant as I thought (heat transferring to the wearer's hand, no worries about the material melting). I like that they are washable and clean up nice. Decent gloves. Make them better heat shielded for hands and I'd love these. As is, they are just okay for me.

The gloves do what they are supposed to do. Also the gloves protect against steam and hot water which regular mittens won't. These are really handy when cleaning cast iron cookware which should be hot when cleaning is done.
