Insteon 2244-372 Home Control Starter Kit White w/Hub & 2x Dimmer Modules

Ok, so maybe this one is my fault, but i purchased this kit in desperation after my hub (and therefore a house full of Insteon switches, sensors, and cameras) went inactive. I had head that Insteon would fix the hubs even if they were out of warranty, but I needed to have my system back up and running asap as we were having gests stay with us in a few days. A quick search on Amazon and this kit came up. Plug in module, camera and new hub for sub-$100 and I jumped on it. In hindsight, I should have read the description better...First, this is the Insteon Homekit Hub.... meaning it works well with Apple Home, but it does not interface with Sonos or (I believe) Alexa. I use both as part of our smart home so this hub would not allow me to control the house as the other hub would have. Second, the camera is only a SD camera, not a HD camera. The HD cameras have a much better picture and frankly the SD camera is noticeably lower quality in its performance. I should have recognized the difference in the box, but was so excited to have a new hub I ignore the "Can not be returned if opened" sticker on the box and ripped open the box and tried to install the new hub before I ever realized the mistake. Likewise, I figured at least I had an extra camera to use until I went to install it on the network and it came up as being listed as a SD camera. It looks like the HD camera from the outside, but performance is not comparable. I only wanted to provide this review as I don't want other people to make the same mistake as I did. Read the description better and make sure you know what you are buying, as it was not obvious at the time I bought this kit. The Insteon products are good products and I am very happy all in all, I just wish it was more clear what was in this kit.

Not sure what previous reviewer was talking about, but yes, this works with Alexa.And not sure why he complained about SD camera instead of HD. Insteon 2244-372 comes with no cameras ! It is just a hub and 2 summers.

Got this as a wedding gift. Worked great at first, but quickly one of the dimmers burned out and stopped working. Then after about a year, the entire hub crapped out. Waste of money.
