My Guinea Pig

Daughter loves this book and says it is much more informative than other guinea pig books. Recommend.

This may be the cutest book I have ever seen, but it is full of good information on keeping healthy guinea pigs for pets. I wanted a book for my son and did not expect much as there is a lot of bad advise on piggies in the pet market. But, this is good. The author has studied captive rodents for 25 years (as in academically- PhD). A friend saw my copy and is getting one as a coffee table book because the pictures make it collectible

THIS IS A GREAT BOOK FOR THE FIRST TIME GUINEA PIG OWNER! WELL WRITTEN AND IN DETAIL, I'VE HAS 5 GUINEA PIGS IN THE LAST 40 YEARS AND THEY LIVED TO BE 7 TO 8 YEARS. THEY ARE VERY GOOD PETS FOR CHILD OVER 8 YEARS OF AGE. I'VE NOTICED THAT THE RABBIT ARE WAY TOUGHER (FOR CHILD) THAN GUINEA PIGS.I WOULD RECOMMEND RABBIT FOR SMALL CHILD UNDER 8. WHEN THE CHILD IS OLDER AND MORE CAREFUL WITH THE GUINEA PIG, THEN IT WOULD BE A NICE PET. (GUINEA PIGS FOUR FEET ARE SMALL AND DELICATE, IF HANDLED ROUGH IT WILL BREAK). RABBITS FOUR FEETS ARE BIG AND TOUGH FOR SMALL CHILD TO HANDLE. MAKE SURE TO CLIP THEIR NAILS ON A REGULAR BASIS!

I've been through a few books on guinea book care and this is my favorite one! The author is a biologist from Germany who spent more than 8 years to research on guinea pigs, what can be more reassuring than that? The book is filled with 144 pages of rich info and beautiful pictures, excellent value for the price! This is also the only book I've read that states a guinea pig's need for same-species companionship in a non-negotiable tone. The chapter on how to provide actitives such as an obstacle course to keep the guinea pig stimulated and to encourage it to exercise more is especially helpful. You don't really need another book on guinea pig care if you have this one!

I am so so so happy I bought this book! The apartment I love in has sketchy wifi so this book made it fast and easy to look up guinea pig info. I also have the hamster edition and that saved me and my hamster when she had babies! I learned so much from the books, especially about their diet and behaviors, which has helped keep my piggies happy and healthy! :) This book is definitely worth buying :)

A 4th grade friend of mine was expecting to get this pet and was terribly excited about it. I saw this as an opportunity to help her with her reading and sense of responsibility. She rose to the occasion with the help of this book.

It's kind of outdated, and generalized, but cute pictures. A good book for a child.

It is very informational. It has a lot of pictures that kids enjoy looking at. It hits on a lot of subjects dealing with the care of guinea pigs. A must have for guinea pig owners, especially kids.

Every Guinea Pig owner should have this book. Don't agree with the part where it says that guinea pigs and dwarf rabbits can live together, but otherwise great book!
