Sound and fingerboard action are great. Nice finish on the body.
Overall this instrument is "a lot of bang for the bucK'. The workmanship on the body is good. My only gripe was with the soundhole grilles. When I opened the bag, which was the innermost packaging element, the soundhole grilles were in the bag, not on the instrument ! The soundholes were 2.75 inches in diameter and the grilles were about 2.5 inches. with a rim having an arched cross-section. A thick clear colored adhesive had been applied sort of randomly to the underside of the rim which was against the gloss finish of the guitar top. My solution : I ordered a pair of 2.75 inch sound hole grilles from C.B. Gitty Crafter Supply via Amazon for about $17. Then i ordered some thick cyanoacrylate adhesive through Amazon. I roughed up the area around the soundhole which was going to be under the soundhole grille, using fine grit sandpaper, and attached the grilles with the adhesive. The new grilles had a rim which was perfectly flat on back, so had good contact with the adhesive.. The new grilles look great and are firmly attached.

Great Value - Great Guitar
Great guitar! I compared this to the Paul Beard Signature model at my local shop and couldn't notice much of a difference. This is a great Reso for any level player. Good build quality and setup right out of the box.

Regal traditional Reso
I bought the Regal Duolian imitation last year and loved it. Sound was the way a steel bodied reso should be, construction wasn't up to National standards but really pretty good. When this model was discontinued and prices dropped to sub-$300 I thought I'd take a chance. Bad decision. This guitar is miles beneath the Duolian in construction and sound. Regal fell on their faces with this one. Sloppy finish, cheap looks, sound was fair at best. And the action was totally WRONG for a reso. Way, way too low. I know even the cheapo Chinese knockoffs have figured out that beginning players want action like a Taylor/Martin. But this is a RESO! ya gotta use a slide on it, so there has to be room between fret and string so you don't sound like you're dragging a hammer up the fretboard when you play. I tried adjusting the action up via the trussrod--which by the way worked poorly--no go. Thought about taking it to my guitar guy to adjust but then decided it wasn't worth $50 to try to get the action right on a $300 guitar. Sent it back.

Love my resonator
I enjoy playing it. Love the sound. Instrument is of good quality. Stays in tune well. I am a very satisfied customer. Saga did an excellent job with shipping, it only took two days to arrive.

I got mine used from GC - love the way it sounds and it plays well
I got mine used from GC - love the way it sounds and it plays well. The action on the one I got is fairly low, so those looking to do slide might have an issue - again I bought used, so I'm not sure if it was setup prior to my ownership. I noted no flaws in the finish, hardware is solid, pegs turn smoothly, and no rattles. There is no strap button at the neck, so if you want one, you'll have to add it. Overall, I'd say that this is an excellent entry level model.
