Lays flat. Petals does not keep its shape. Does not work well with deep farm sink.
I bought this because I thought it would be a cheaper alternative to the ones I have seen at the big box baby retail stores. The color is nice, but if you have a wide and deep sink, it will not hold up its shape. There is no Velcro to keep the petals up. The padding are thin. I'd say less than an inch thick. There are no boning or structures inside to petals to shape them however you want. So if you have a wide and deep sink, like mine, it will lay flat like a blanket. It's not the easiest to bath my daughter's back or head bc she is laying down. The petals isn't stiff enough for me to position her in a 45 degree position like the way it shows in the picture. I don't mind it as much bc my daughter will be able to sit up on her own. This will eventually make bath time easier, and then this bath pad will be good to keep her tushie warm as it would protect her from the cold metal sink. I would recommend to use in a shallow sink, like a bathroom sink, where the sides of sink are not high/tall. A sink that is shallow will keep your baby angled and make bath time easier.

I just used this with my daughter for the first time and she loved it. I’ve purchased a few tubs because she cries (the tubs were uncomfortable and hard) when she’s getting a bath until tonight. She laid there relaxed, and smiled, talked,
