Every part of the dress runs large except the neck hole, which is too small. Based on the other reviews I bought the newborn size for my daughter who is 6 months old, weighs 16 lbs, and typically wears a range of 6-12 month size in most brands.Here are my instructions for altering the dress to fit the dress over her head:1. Use a seam ripper to remove the tag from the back of the dress2. Fold the dress in half to find the middle of the back of the neck hole.3. Snip the decorative stitching in the back at the center.4. Using that spot as your guide, cut a 3/4” slit straight down.That’s it. I didn’t do anything to keep the fabric from fraying. I’ll update this review after I wash the dress.

Sooooo cute, but too big on a newborn but at least she’ll get a few wears out of it. Also the hole for the head was a little small so we had to make an adjustment. Over all very cute!

The dress is so cute but runs extremely big! My daughter weighs 27 pounds at 2 years old. She wears 18-24 months clothing. I got the 18-24 months and the dress is more of a 3T. Size down!

The dress is beautifully made but is definitely larger than newborn size - more like 6-9 months.
